Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

I’ve eaten at three different places in the last month Piqua Ohio, Centerville Ohio,and Middletown Ohio. I ordered the same meal at each location. Mama’ pancake breakfast with pecan pancakes. The food portion was smaller and the food was lukewarm to absolutely cold at each location. Two thin pecan pancakes instead of three thick ones. The butter would not fully melt on the pancakes only softened some. Cold bacon and scrambled eggs. The hash brown casserole at the Centerville store was cold like it just came out of the refrigerator. The other places it was room temperature. I can’t believe that it was like that every place I went. I had read that the restaurant was in financial trouble and I see why. Things need to change quickly don’t reduce portion sizes and raise the price. Keep the portion size up and fix the food quality problems immediately. Raise the price if you must but keep things the way it used to be. I haven’t decided if I’m done with this business but may just give up.

The food quality was decent, but the service today was sub-par. They neglected to include the two sides ordered with my wife's meal. When we were finally asked how everything was, we were nearly finished with our meal. The server apologized but then proceeded to deflect blame by telling us how busy she was. She also neglected to serve us our bread & biscuits.

Oh well. We may allow them to prove this experience was a fluke by visiting again.

Food was ready when I arrived. It was packed well. Was a good temperature when I got home, tasted great! Only problem was the biscuits were dry (as biscuits usually are) and I didn't receive my strawberry jam that I requested, it wasn't even mentioned on the sales receipt.

Steak was medium instead of med rare but tasted great and had great service from Ethan. Overall, it was an excellent experience.

We have not been to a Cracker Barrel in years and stopped in our long 8 hour car ride. We had the pleasure of being served by Rachel. She was so kind and cheerful. She offered up suggestions and quickly got drinks and our appetizer in. We never had to ask for a refill or anything as she was on top of it all. She flowed through the dining room so naturally. We loved the cheese bites and the chicken and dumplings! Everything was hot and delicious.

Good service though it seemed they were short a waitress. The food was well prepared but as usual, the coffee cools too quickly in their cups.

We had a great time at breakfast, the waitress was so sweet and genuinely conservative with us and the kids. The food was fresh and hot although I wish the bacon had more flavor. We love our local Middletown, OH Cracker Barrel!!

We went to this particular Cracker Barrel for dinner tonight. While the food and service was fine as usual, the dining area was a disaster. It appeared that the floor hadn't been swept or cleaned in quite some time and several tables had not been cleared after the previous customers had left. The attending host tried to sit us at a table that had a bunch of trash underneath it on the floor along with a spilled drink. When we asked for a different table, the host looked like we were putting him out by making our request. We saw a couple of other customers who had the same experience with other tables. This restaurant needs to spend a lot more time cleaning up their dining area on a regular basis. We've enjoyed this Cracker Barrel several times in the past, but this latest visit was very disappointing.

The hash brown Sheppard's is awesome! I'll get that any time I go there other than breakfast...super filling..melt in your mouth ...yummy
