This place consistently has the best fried chicken in the area. I think the chicken is fresher and higher quality than what you get at other places. Its my wife's favorite Chicken place in Middletown, so she has me stopping there a lot. Definitely recommend this place!

I'm retracting my review from last night on October 21st 2025! This is horrible! Today I Wednesday October 22, 2025. Last night around 10 pm maybe a little after I went to hooks fish and chicken on breiel Blvd in Middletown oh. They told me basically if I prematurely left them a good review then I would receive an instant free order of fries, so I did the review. First off they didn't even make the fry so I said don't worry about it because I was the only one there or ordering at all from any outlet. The cooking process took forever for only having one order. Ok so I overlooked that. I get home and check my food as I ordered the catfish fillets with extra lemon powder seasoning. Non on there at all. Then laying next to the catfish fillets for some reason was a pile of rotten brown oozing lettuce. Come on you have to know when you are putting that in there that it's rotten, I understand it was close to closing time, but that doesn't mean serve rotten old food, I could maybe see an accidental maybe dropping like 1 piece of brownish lettuce here and there, I mean I would never, it's not that hard to make sure you don't serve a customer rotten brown slimy lettuce, and I don't just mean browned I mean rotten smelling nasty lettuce. I'm medically ill as well and have to watch what I eat especially nothing rotten.Secondly I specifically told the guy at the counter I believe his name was MJ, I told him I wanted extra banana peppers and no green peppers as I can't eat them, like a 3 minute conversation about first if he had banana peppers and secondly no green peppers and extra banana peppers. When I looked at my sandwich there were no banana peppers and the whole sandwich was full of green peppers, listen I know people make mistakes we are all human, but man that is crazy ridiculous and if you do that type of stuff you should be working nowhere period. I then tried the gyro and the first bite just tasted like spoiled dairy probably the tetra sauce and the whole gyro just fell apart like I gave up eating period. This is serious and very true, I'm not just complaining about everything I got for no reason and if I'm on here talking about it, then you know it was horrible because I don't do reviews or usually even complain about messed up food, but this is a little different than just giving someone the wrong food, and it if I didn't complain about this situation then Something would be wrong with me! Anyone else had this problem? Such a shame especially when you're taking over an old business location of the well known Long John silvers building. Also you should not bribe people for good reviews before you send food out and maybe I shouldn't have gave a good review while you were still cooking my food that's on me but I was just trying to be nice and respectful as I was told twice that if I gave a premature review that I would receive free food, and like I said that's not even why I did it I didn't receive the free food anyway. Naturally when I called them back to tell them about it they were closed. That was a waste of 40 dollars! I may not even return for a replacement, but I will return to let them know!
