A hidden gem in the center of Nelsonville. We were blown away that food this good exists in this little bitty town. We will definitely be back.

Staying in a cabin for the weekend and we didn’t plan our breakfast well enough. Alfonso’s to the rescue! While strolling through town we walked in and picked up a sampling of pastries. They were all GREAT! Lemon Bar, Cream Puff, Cannoli , Croissant (almond was stupendous) ! All good stuff!

I want to thank Alfonso’s bakery for the beautiful 40 cake they made for my daughter’s birthday. It was exactly what we wanted and it tasted delicious!

Great Sandwiches & Treats

Stopped by after riding the train. Sandwiches were delicious with fresh ingredients on fresh baked bread. Sweets were equally as good. So glad we stopped by!

Has some daily Italian meals. I was looking for either something sweet or a good bread.

Got “The Louie” sandwich with the lunch special, 10/10. The chicken was deliciously tender, with the perfect amount of toppings to complement. The bread was fresh, soft, and delicious. The pasta salad was fantastic and unlike any other pasta salad I’ve had. Highly recommend!

Everything I have gotten from here is absolutely delicious! The croissant melts in your mouth and is just perfect. The bread reminds me of my grandmother's. The desserts are decadent and fresh. I try something in new each time ( or try to) Because anything you try, you'll be hooked.

Takeout – great bakery & sandwich selections made on premises at reasonable prices. I got a crisp pistachio cannoli the first day, went back the next for sandwiches and stuffed shells. Large portions and a nice owner. I’d be pleased as heck if this was in my neighborhood.

Absolutely delicious. Everything was so good and above what I had expected. I had meatballs, a crossiont, and a orzo salad. I'm going back for sure.

I’ve tried their cheese cake twice and while it’s delicious, good luck getting anything, every time I’ve gone in myself the shelves are bare and he says he’s all sold out…right after opening for the day. When asking him when he’ll have certain items in stock he gets an attitude.

Stopped here for lunch from out of town and this place blew me away. Two of the best Italian sandwiches I’ve ever had: “The Godfather” and “The Parmesan Don”. Tiramisu was great. Highly highly recommend. Definitely a hidden gem.

It's a Friday at 3:00pm and I drove over an hour to try the place. Facebook, maps and the door all say close at 4:00. You could only imagine the frustration. I cannot comment on the food. I recommend everyone calling before you show up.

This is the second time we've tried to come during posted business hours. Noon on a Monday and the doors were locked. Evidently St. Patrick's Day justifies not being open, coping an attitude on the phone, and not even posting a note of closure on the door. (FYI to the rude male employee that answered the phone, the mail is still being delievered today. SPD is not a national holiday.) I even checked their Facebook page to be sure they were open. We are not local and have traveled out of our way each time. Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice, shame on you.
