Note: I'm Not a food critic nor a 'foodie'; if you want such a review, move to NYC. However, I grew up in Nerk & was in town for the holidays & decided to give Alley Cat a try... My wife ordered a 12" Veggie pizza & I got their Full-sized Philly Steak sub & a Full order of their Cheesy Garlic Bread. ALL were EXCELLENT !! One of the Rare exceptions where website/app pics posted by a restaurant Actually matches what you receive as your order....
I hadn't tried this place before but got a large pepperoni and ham tonight, and this is a phenomenal pizza. The sauce is great, the toppings were plentiful and the crust was thin and crispy, which is my favorite. The owner chatted with me for a few minutes and he also made me feel very welcome and appreciative of my patronage. I will absolutely be getting this again, and soon.
You can catch me calling opening a new pizza spot in Newark a horrendous idea, I've said it before and I'll make that criticism every 3 weeks when a new pizza place opens.
But man, Alley Cat stands out. The prices are very reasonable, the food is actually great for those prices, and the branding is attractive. Nice work.
