Stopped in for lunch two days ago. I can't articulate how horrendous our server treated us. It was so bad that we left the restaurant. When I asked what the soups were for the day, the server took a crumpled paper and tossed it down in front.of me to read for myself. This was just one of the rude and disrespectful behaviors she exhibited. Before leaving I notified the hostess about our experience.

Good was pretty good. Hubby wasn’t pleased with his meal. I loved my fried green tomato Benedict. Waffle flight was pretty good also. Service was horrible. Our waiter didn’t seem like he wanted to be there and was very “blah” and not attentive or kind. We were also sat at a high top near the door to come into the room and everyone that walked past us, pushed our chairs and table and it was extremely frustrating. Not a good area to comfortably enjoy your meal and experience.

This place has the best in soup in Stark County Ohio, bar none. Try the Red Pepper Gouda soup, my favorite. Huge menu, tons of options including vegan and gluten free.

I am from out of town, found this establishment on TikTok. It was very crowded inside but did not have to wait long for seating. Amy the server had phenomenal customer service. I love love love they have gluten options. I so limited to my menu when outside. I order the gluten free French toast came with sauce that was delicious, stuffed with strawberry cream cheese, strawberries, blackberries, bananas, home fries, and bacon. The French toast was amazing, did not care for the eggs and or the home fries.

The menu selections are very extensive. I had a Cuban with waffle fries which was so large I took half home. Also, the quality was excellent, fresh and homemade

I recently visited Samantha’s in North Canton, Ohio, and unfortunately, my experience left me very disappointed. I’m originally from Indiana and currently attend DePaul University. This visit was during my college break, my first time being home in a while, so I was really looking forward to enjoying one of my favorite childhood spots. Growing up, my dad lived in North Canton, and visiting Samantha’s was always a special treat. One of my favorite dishes has always been the New York cheesecake pancakes—they were consistently fluffy, rich, and delicious, a true highlight of my visits.
This time, however, the New York cheesecake pancake I received was hard, which completely ruined the meal for me. There’s nothing worse than expecting a light, fluffy pancake and instead getting something dense and chewy. The bacon on the side was cooked fine, but it couldn’t make up for the main dish being so disappointing. We didn’t have the time to wait for a replacement, so I left feeling very dissatisfied and hungry, which was especially frustrating given how much I’ve always loved this restaurant.
What makes this experience particularly upsetting is the nostalgia I have for Samantha’s. As a kid, it was a place of comfort and joy, and I’ve always associated it with delicious breakfasts and good memories. To see the quality of a signature dish decline so dramatically was disheartening. I sincerely hope this was just an off day, because the New York cheesecake pancakes have always been a reason I looked forward to visiting Samantha’s.
Unfortunately, based on this visit, I probably will not ever go back. While the atmosphere and service were fine, the food quality needs attention. Hard pancakes simply shouldn’t happen at a place that built its reputation on being a breakfast favorite. It’s especially disappointing since this was my first time back home for a college break in a while, and I really wanted to enjoy a comforting, nostalgic meal. I hope Samantha’s can bring back the fluffy, decadent pancakes that made it such a special part of my childhood, but for now, I can’t recommend it.
