I've ordered here a couple times now Most of the food is good but every time I get green beans it tastes like Dawn dish soap Not sure why but I wouldn't recommend getting them

I ordered the four piece chicken dinner and and was incredibly upset once I opened my styrofoam dish. All four pieces of the chicken was burnt and dry, wasn't hot and was so enedible that I just threw the entire dish in the trash. The best thing about the dish was the unseasoned green beans. The beans and rice was the absolute worst as it was served cold and also unseasoned. I totally wasted $14.99 on this mess and if it wasn't for the fact that I just came from dialysis and needed my rest, I would have brought the food back and demanded an immediate refund. I try to support community establishments but, this is one I'll NEVER return for service... This is a sad excuse and example of a neighborhood food establishment.. UOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Meatloaf was bad, mashed potatoes were instant...terrible. Gravy was cold. They were closed on the inside till 4 but let us sit at a table and eat anyway. So that was good. Fried okra was delicious but you can't get it as a side.

Ordered on Doordash today for the first time and it was ????? I had the whiting, with fries and yams with a cheesecake! Everything was fresh and delicious. You can taste the cheese in the cheesecake I actually liked that. I will be back. #SupportLocal

Saw the mixed reviews and it made me nervous but I tried it anyway. The fish SLAPPED, as the kids today would say. It was well seasoned, not too salty and fried HARD. Yay! The yams were pretty good and not runny. People have a tendency to NOT know how to properly cook yams. They use too much water, when yams are full of water themselves and need just a small amount and not to be saturated and lose flavor. The greens? Chopped too uniform like. These do not look hand cut, they aren't canned but they aren't rolled and hand cut. They are still good. Now, on Doordash, you can't order cornbread but in store and on their direct site, you can. I took the liberty of making my own corn cakes, as you can see in the picture. I'm glad they do offer cornbread though, despite the Doordash issue. Too many restaurants scream "Soulfood" or "Southern" in this area BUT don't serve cornbread. The sides are HUGE. That's a plus. I ate on this meal 3 times.They also sent me a free side of Okra. I sincerely appreciate it. I LOVE okra.I know I was long-winded but hey... lol.I will be back.Edit: So, I'm confused now. Apparently, their in house menu doesn't offer cornbread anymore. Y'all can correct me in the reviews if need be but I will leave my review up until further notice lol.

This is a hidden gem in the heart of North College Hill. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. It was like a down home type feeling. Those from the south understand. The fish is cooked in cornmeal as it should be. Never had beef gumbo until I dined here. It's just plain old down home cooking at its best. I'll become a regular customer at this mom & pop restaurant.

Don't eat here. I picked up a door dash and I watched this lady heat food up and figure the food to check the temperature. Absolutely disgusting. This was after she scratched her butt and swatted at tons of fruit flies!

The young lady at the counter was very nice when I came in. I found out about this place doing door dash one day so I decided to give them a try before I went to work which made me late because she told me 15 min and it went way over the time. I ordered 6 breaded wings, Mac & cheese, greens, and yams. I was really thinking I was going to get some real soul food seeing that the lady in the back reminded me of my grandmother. I was shocked when I went to taste my food the chicken and the Mac and cheese tasted like it came from GFS. The yams were pretty good but the greens were definitely canned greens. I paid $15.99 I don’t think I will be back, I gave them a try but not again. I hope they will make some changes.

I was very excited to find a soul food spot near me, until I had a few entrées from here. This place has canned food sides and the Mac and cheese is frozen from GFS. Nothing about this place is authentic unless you like canned food and store bought desserts. My gosh I'm actually embarrassed for this place. Black owned businesses are going downhill if this is the quality you get in the food industry. I won't give up on my search, but Plutos Café is DEFINITELY NOT IT! Do yourself a favor and save your time and money, go somewhere else where there's real food.
