3 bucks for a Dixie Cup size coffee. ☹️
Amazing late an stuff (they print my name correctly)
Fantastic chai latte and I love the seasonal options here, such as the ginger bread cookie latte. Very calm and nice ambience, great for studying/working or overall a good place to meet up with a group and collaborate.
I love the local and slow train. The coffee is great, I love the pastries, and the ambiance is wonderful. Every time I go I order an everything bagel with bacon, egg, cheese, avocado, and chipotle mayo. Unfortunately, every time my bagel, egg, and bacon are all frozen in the middle. If this problem is to be fixed, it would be 5 stars across the board.
While I haven't had food here yet, my beverages are always top tier.

I like the atmosphere of Slow Train (same owner, different location) more, but evidently so does everyone else because it’s always packed. The Local is pretty reliable to have spaces and quick turnaround. The wifi is less reliable, though.
Wheelchair accessibility: Below-ground establishment with only stairs to reach the store- not accessible.

Loved getting to visit this cute spot in Oberlin! Having to go downstairs makes it feel like such a tucked away hidden gem. I had a rosemary + sea salt bagel BLT and it was unbelievably tasty! I got a matcha which was good but it seemed like they used a syrup instead of a powder, but I could be wrong. I think they are more known for their espresso drinks so I wish I got a latte. Next time! ☺️

To the person who wrote below that the owner is a horrible person, you do not know my mother. You do not know the amount of work she has put into her shops over the years. You do not know her personally, and how much she cares about each and every one of her customers. The audacity you would have to make such a false claim, is astounding and childish. You are a grown human being who is choosing to hide behind a screen and say awful things about others in order to make yourself feel better. Slow train and The Local are both amazing shops that brings together people from all walks of life, and makes everyone feel good after entering and being in the atmosphere of the shops. I say this without bias as I have grown up in the shops my entire life and have seen all of this firsthand. @Bagels

This location is ideal for a more relaxed environment to do work. The staff are incredibly hard working and it is clear that a lot of effort has gone into the curation of the local.

The Local and Slow Train are my go-to spots for a creative workspace out of the house. The vibe in the coffee shop is so energizing! Plus, they offer delicious coffee and treats. What more do you need?
