This is a great place that actually seasons their burgers as well as taking pride in their knife skills- the perogies topped with beautifully caramelized small dice onion and that is difficult to accomplish. The burger patty wasn't overworked so it didn't become chewy. The special of sausage and zucchini soup also had exhibited this excellent knife work, and also show cased the skill of balancing flavor. The level of precision and attention to details of care for food is locally some what difficult to find!”

“New Favorite Italian Spot! We came here for my brother’s rehearsal dinner, and wow—Matteo’s absolutely blew us away! My husband and I loved everything we had: the lemon chicken was tender and flavorful, the Alfredo cavatelli was creamy perfection, and the sausage and meatballs were just incredible. Honestly, I can’t even pick a favorite—they were all that good. The bread and butter? Probably the best we’ve ever had. The cozy, old-town vibe of the location just added to the charm, and the service was top-notch. You can really feel the care and warmth of a true mom-and-pop Italian place. We’ve officially found our new go-to spot. If you’re a fan of Italian food and great hospitality, do yourself a favor and check out Matteo’s!”

“The food and restaurant were great! The bathrooms were absolutely horrible. They were very dirty and not at all maintained. I felt like I was back at a college bar. There was no soap in the containers, just a hand soap bottle left on the sink that was uncomfortable to even touch. No paper towels, very little toilet paper. The floor was littered. The walls had graffiti. I was so disappointed and the condition made me worry about what the kitchen looked like. For a restaurant in Crocker park, where the prices were high, should not have a restroom that looks like that! It's not like they were too busy to get to it either as there were only two or three tables filled with customers to take care of. Thus will keep me from going to this place again.”

“Stopped here after my son's baseball game nearby. Not from the area but have been hearing wonderful things about Mimi's. The service was amazing and the food was delicious. While we sat and ate our yummy pizza, Mimi herself struck up a conversation with us, and later brought us a fresh bowl of sausage and peppers, completely complimentary. We would definitely make the 40+ minute drive for more Mimi's!”

“We came here yesterday for the first time and it was by far the best chicken and mozzarella sticks I’ve ever had! We also tried the sweet potato and they gave me a sample of the chili which were both very good. I’m super excited to try the other sides in the future. The employees all exuded a good energy and made you feel welcomed which doesn’t always happen when you are out to eat. Overall it was a 10/10 experience!!”
