Tried to take my non-binary partner out to this bar since I used to go all the time as a student. Not only did the two female blonde bouncers accept my ID that technically could be considered not applicable (because of age and format), but they then decided to deny my trans partner with an ID from the same state with the correct format. When I tried to talk to the bouncers to get them to understand my ID was more likely to get them in trouble, their friends/coworkers decided it would be appropriate to joke about how that “*term I won’t use*” is even trying since it’s clearly a fake. Honestly, I’m shocked and surprised as someone who went there multiple times as a student (at 18) and had no issues, but now with my trans partner I had to push for the bar to let them inside with a properly formatted ID. What really sealed the deal was that the Brick Street Bar bouncers let them in with no issue when they are known to be more strict. Disappointing overall. At the very least, don’t insult your customers when they are still talking to you.

The seating for the drag show could for sure be better, but the bartender who got us drinks last night was really sweet and it feels like a pretty safe place. I for sure recommend attending the drag shows, even if you're not 21 because you can be sober and still have a great night 100%. But the location is really small so get there early to reserve seats for the show. You don't have to be a Miami student to get in.

Bar 1868 is my favorite. The atmosphere is cool, the drinks are so good, and I LOVE the drag shows. If you’re in Oxford this is the place to go.
