I have been coming here since the late 80s (little sibs weekend) although since graduation in the mid 90s I only get to Oxford every 3-5 years. The atmosphere is just like when I attended Miami in the early 90s and I love that. Food was awesome as usual although the cheese sauce seemed off/different than before. The student staff does a great job.

We came to visit one of the universities and decided to have lunch here. This seems like a cool college hangout. I was happy to see they had gyros and waffle fries with special sauce. This was a great lunch.

We love to try need places and we were excited to try Skippers. We were even more excited to see that they had gyros and shaved their own meat. We both ordered the chicken gyro and let me tell you how surprised we were to bite into them only to find they had honey mustard dressing 🤮 this ruined both of our meals. So my bf went up bc surely that’s not what was on these and sure enough the guy says honey mustard to which my bf responded I absolutely HATE honey mustard. Well the two guys behind the counter just stared at him like be had two heads and said nothing. They then watched him push his whole plate to the side in disgust and I dumped the meat off mine and put my bread to the side. They just stared at us and said nothing ass we tried to dr up our food bc we were starving. In the least they could of apologized and offer to remake the food bc after all it is not on the menu that these come with honey mustard and I have Greek family and friends and been to many festivals and never have seen honey mustard ever added to their food. We were so stunned by this that we didn’t even mention that the fries tasted like fish bc the oil needed changed. The place was nice and we would give a better review but getting ignored and unheard is unacceptable to me we spent almost $30 on food walking out still hungry and very unsatisfied.

I walked in and announced I was going to judge their Chicago dogs. . . And the verdict is that they have some darn good dogs! We’re a bit away from Chicago, but for someone who misses her hotdogs dragged through the garden, these hit the spot! My kids loved it, too (huge bonus). Hopefully we can play another tournament here and hit it up again!

I got the bacon burger with a side of waffle fries. The burger was definitely the star of the meal. The burger was juicy, the bacon was crispy, and it was served without mustard or cheese, exactly as requested. I really liked that the price included the side of waffle fries. The fries were cooked well, but I felt like they needed a little more seasoning of some kind that ketchup, salt, nor pepper could supply. Service was friendly and quick! Would absolutely recommend and would visit again. The chairs were a little uncomfortable, but I don’t think anyone really cares in a warm, welcoming place like Skipper’s.
