False advertisement order was Crab Rangoon 100% cream cheese. $8.25 I could have purchased myself and placed on a bagel. Very disappointing

We like China House very much. Although, prices have increased and portions have decreased. We need balance so one or the other, not both.
Best egg rolls in town.

Important restaurant tip: windows , doors and bathrooms should always be clean.

Horrible. Rock hard chicken couldn't eat it. Literally threw it out the window. Would not recommend at all. Spring roll was ok

I am new to Lake County and to Painesville. I've been here a year and come from Lucas County in the Toledo area. I'm comparing this restaurant with what I was used to in Toledo in terms of Chinese food. I've driven past this place at least 10 times and yesterday I decided to try it for my dinner for the first time. I wanted to really give this restaurant high marks but in all honesty I could not. First, let's talk about the atmosphere. So much more could be done with seating! The place looked like the tables and chairs had been removed. This was Sunday afternoon around 6 pm so maybe they had for cleaning purposes. If so, they should have put up a sign telling customers. Second, let's talk about the service. There were three people behind the counter ... two males and a female. The two males were cooking and the woman was preparing pick up orders. I entered the restaurant 4 minutes before my pick up, online order was to be ready. I thought that I would pay by credit card a bit early. I did and received my food on time. I don't know if it was the language barrier or what but my observations were the all three of them did not want to be there. No greeting when I came in, no smiles, nothing. At least greet me and say that it will be 4-5 minutes before my order is ready. Don't leave me standing there at the counter wondering if I am invisible. Third, let's talk about the food. I ordered hot and sour soup, an egg roll, and sweet and sour chicken. Like in Toledo, I was expecting that the sweet and sour chicken would include onions, green peppers, pineapples, strawberries, and rice. I was very disappointed to find that the sweet and sour chicken only included deep fried chicken and a small container of rice. Don't get this dish if you are concerned about eating deep, friend, battered chicken. The red sauce, that was the sweet and sour, was plentiful and very tasty. The egg roll and the soup were average at best. I will try the China House one more time and order something different. Some advice for the China House, start adding onions, green peppers, pineapple, and strawberries to the sweet and sour chicken. Perhaps add them on the side for those that like the dish the way it is.

China house is where it's at. I knew I needed something bussin, so I stopped in. I saw that it was run down and slightly crammed, so I knew I was about to eat some peak cuisine. The dining area is less than pristine, but the food and service make up for it. I got my food in 8 minutes, the employees were very nice, and the prices were amazing. I ordered a lunch special with orange chicken and pork fried rice with broccoli, and it was only 8$. The serving was a great size, and the food was incredible. The orange chicken sauce they use is amazing, and the fried rice was very flavorful. Highly recommend getting takeout from here!

I’ve frequently got carry out from this place when I lived in the area more than 15 years ago. Now it’s one of those places I have to get lunch or supper at when visiting NE Ohio. Typically, a carry out Chinese restaurant could only muster 3 of 5 from me, as most are simply average food with a non frills venue. But this place gets 4 of 5 from me solely based on the food, both flavors and quantity. Their price points are average. They make excellent egg-rolls and a very tasty hot-n-sour soup. But IMO, the crown jewel is the General Tso’s chicken. TIP: they do have a couple of tables if you want to dine inside; however I discourage you from doing that as the upfront area has no HVAC, it’s either extremely hot or in the winter it’s extremely cold.

I got beef and broccoli and fried rice. Paid $24. I stirred my food because I thought maybe the broccoli was all on top. No it’s mainly broccoli. No meat at all. I drive 30 minutes here because I read a review that said great portions. Never again.

Worst Chinese food ever. Used to be good but today ordered bourbon chicken and it looked burnt when I opened it. Meat so hard could hardly chew it. Portion large but if you can’t eat it what good is that. Fried rice looked bland and it was! Will not go there again.
