Concord Tavern – 5 Stars
I’ve been into Concord Tavern a few times now, and the experience really depends on who’s working, but overall this place deserves a lot of credit. For a dive bar, it’s honestly really nice. It’s clean, well kept, and has a surprisingly good aesthetic. They clearly take pride in the place. The bar food menu is large, the prices are great, and everything feels way better than what you’d normally expect from a typical dive.
One thing that really stands out is the regulars. Instead of being standoffish or acting like you’re intruding on “their” spot like you get at some other local bars, the people here actually embrace you. They’re friendly, welcoming, and help create a comfortable, easygoing vibe.
Now, onto the staff:
Dave is genuinely one of the best bartenders I’ve come across anywhere. He goes above and beyond every single time. He talks about the business like he genuinely cares about the owners and the customers, and it absolutely shows. Whether he’s behind the bar or jumping into the kitchen, he gives every order real attention. If he happens to be cooking, do yourself a huge favor and order whatever you can. Everything he makes tastes like someone truly cared, which is rare in any bar, let alone a dive.
Brooke is also fantastic. She’s personable, attentive, and you can tell she enjoys interacting with people. She brings a positive energy to the place anytime she’s on shift.
Jono, on the other hand, is a totally different experience. Every time I’ve had him, he’s been slow, disconnected, and acts like he just doesn’t care to be there. I even heard him complaining about tips while people were actively tipping. Asking him for anything feels like you’re inconveniencing him. He doesn’t seem willing to help in the kitchen, and even grabbing a simple beer feels like a chore for him. We’ve had him twice now, and both times were identical.
This past Friday proved it even more. It was just Dave holding the entire place down—cooking, serving, bartending, doing everything. Total chaos, and somehow he still made it work. He mentioned someone was a no-show. He wouldn’t say who it was, but if I had to guess, I’d put money on it being Jono.
The rest of the staff and the overall vibe easily make Concord Tavern a five-star spot. But if you walk in and Jono is the one working, do yourself a favor and turn around quickly. It will turn your five-star experience into a one-star real fast.

Great local tavern! Vanessa is a great bartender.
Love the Blue Collar, Gen X, Down-home feel. Burgers were awesome & well priced. Top shelf drinks were also reasonable. Great chatter & service. Will be back.
