My daughters and I attended a cake decorating class by Brittany. I highly recommend taking one of her classes!! Everything is so organized and fun to do….not to mention the delicious cake you can take home!! I’m not surprised though as Gartman bakery is our favorite and the best around!!

Gartmans Model Bakery (with less than a 24-hour notice) made us a great variety of 100 donuts from the dollar Donut menu for a last minute surprise party that we had. This is my first time ordering anything from Gartman's but DEFINITELY not my last and from now on I "Highly Recommend" Gartmans to everyone I know. Compared to other options for donuts , Gartmans : #1 costs less and has the most flavor options. #2 is always freshly made from scratch (no preservatives). #3 is LOCAL and FAMILY OWNED, so the money you spend stays in the community. #4 the lady that answered the phone was very helpful and read off all the donuts that are on the dollar menu (instead of telling me go to the website and see).

This place is absolutely amazing. It has been there for over a 100 years. We stopped here just driving around and found it, actually anyways, we went in and there were 2 ladies in there that were very kind and courteous. They explain the history of the building and the business. Then we bought all kinds of pastries and cakes way more than we needed. But there were just so many things that looked great. Everything we tried here was delicious. I would absolutely go back here in a minute. And I love the history of the place. Thanks again.

Have been going here for years. They are super friendly and helpful. However, the quality has gone down on some of their items. I spent a lot of money there just before Christmas and I will say that the donuts, cheesecake and cinnamon rolls were very good. But the nut roll and the cheese strudel were awful. The nut roll tasted like it had some kind of fake can filling or something and the cheese one tasted very fake. Not like the real cheese they used to have. Even their small cheese danish also has this fake tasting filling. Their cheese filling used to be amazing and I used to refer people there all the time. Rather than cut back on great ingredients, they would be better off just to sell the good products. In this day and age, it is a sin that I had to throw that stuff away.

Get bday cake here every year for 30 years and this year the icing was awful. Tasted like it was missing sugar as it had no taste at all. Cake was great but no one could eat the frosting

I ordered a cassata cake . I picked it up Saturday afternoon . The cake was dry and I thought the strawberries would be somewhat fresh not strawberry jam. I wasted a lot of money and no one would eat it. I guess you learn from your mistakes. Shirley

Brittany is amazing, her customer service is excellent. And best of all the cakes are not only stunningly decorated, they taste delicious. I recently hired Brittany to create the cake for my 2 year business anniversary and she nailed it. So many of my customers who attend the event commented on how moist and yummy the cake was & the frosting was not too sweet, just right.

Lived in Painesville since 2011. Never been to Gartman Bakery. Me and my daughter decided to finally go and get some donuts about 10am. As we're looking at the display of donuts. I couldn't help but think they look dry. We decided to get a variety of donuts to try anyway. And sure enough they were dry with minimal flavor. Did not taste fresh and seem as though they've been on display for awhile. Definitely wont be back. Not Good!
