Basil Pizza & Wine Bar

Ordered sangria flight. Supper yummy. Got the seasonal bruschetta with the goat cheese on the side for my friend and WOW. And then got the margherita pizza. So delicious. However, the service was insanely slow. The waitress disappeared. My friend had to leave to pick up her daughter, we had a two hour buffer for dinner. The waitress couldn't be found by any staff. When the bill came, it said, "The prices above reflect a 3.00% Cash Discount." Um... Ok. I don't appreciate the sneaky switch on the bill. How about instead a end number that says cash discount total so I know what I'm charging. Who carries cash? Two stars for the bad service and the weird bill. Won't be bringing people here anymore. Used to love bringing people here as it's a very cool vibe with delicious food! Meat eaters, gluten free, vegan alike can find something. Such a bummer.

My husband and I arrived 45 minutes before closing. We were immediately greeted with ‘we do close at 9pm’. We waited 15 minutes and no one bothered to talk to us or take a drink order. The servers looked like they were busy preparing to close. We won’t be coming back here again.

What an amazing dinner!!! A fantastic Old Fashion started the meal, followed by a Cajun gumbo, I know an Italian restaurant, it was the perfect spicy, consistency, meat and veggies, and the entree was a bolognese pasta dish. I could only imagine how great dessert was because I was stuffed. Service was phenomenal and the next time I’m back in Perrysburg, I’m eating at Bails. I may start with dessert though…

We had the most wonderful experience at Basil Pizza & Wine Bar!!! We went to dinner at Basil right after we got engaged and from start to finish, the evening was absolutely perfect.

Our waitress, Grace, was so kind, thoughtful and attentive. She went above and beyond to make our night feel extra special, surprising us with a complimentary bottle of prosecco (which we were even able to take home!!🤩) and a free dessert to celebrate. 💛

To make things even more memorable, my parents called the restaurant to cover our bill as a surprise and the staff handled it so seamlessly and graciously. We felt so cared for and celebrated!

This was actually our second visit—we first came on Valentine’s Day and had an incredible experience as well. Basil has quickly become one of our favorite spots and we can’t recommend it enough. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is very nice and the service is truly top-notch. Thank you, thank you to Grace and the whole team at Basil for making our night so special. We will absolutely be back! 😍

It was sort of nice inside. Open air seating my problem was with the food. I like large salads and the only salad they had was made with kale. I asked if I could have it without kale and lettuce, but I was told it was already mixed so that’s what I ordered. I took most of it home and we ended up throwing it out. Would not go there again. I would advise to look at the menu before you go, and your experience will be more pleasant.

Whenever I’m in town I must go to Basil’s the pizza is quite good (coming from a gal who lived in NY for >10 yrs), sangria is delicious, and staff are always attentive and friendly. Never had anything I got there that I didn’t like and the half off wine bottles on Wednesdays are a fantastic deal.

My date and I went on a Wednesday evening. There were some other customers but I wouldn’t say it was overly busy. We were ignored for several minutes before a waitress noticed we didn’t even have drinks on our table and asked if we had been helped. She got us our drinks and orders. I ordered the bruschetta but was disappointed to find that instead of tomatoes it was butternut squash and Brussels sprouts. Probably fine toppings for winter or fall but not expected for late June. They took it off the bill thankfully. I enjoyed the pizza but my date didn’t like it. Overall it was fine if not a bit underwhelming.

I went to Basil for the first time last night for a surprise dinner for a coworker. The food and atmosphere were great, but I wanted to extend our appreciation to Chloe and Molly. Chloe was very patient and accommodating with our unexpected reservation changes (more people had shown up than had RSVP’d) even though it was probably extremely annoying for her LOL. Our server, Molly, was also very nice and helpful and the service was lovely. Thank you so much Chloe & Molly!

On Wednesday, May 14, I met my sister and niece (21st Birthday) at Basil. They had driven up from Columbus to celebrate with me! Sage was a delight as our server. We wanted for nothing as she was quite attentive. My squid ink pasta with mussels was delectable as was my glass of champagne. My Sister had the garlic bread with meatballs and a wine flight. My niece enjoyed linguine with a white sauce and a cola. We also shared a salad where the lettuce was crispy fresh! This is our favorite restaurant when my family is in town. I highly recommend Basil.

Loved our first experience at Basil's and we will definitely be returning for many more dining experiences. We had brunch and lunch. We sampled items from both menus..the food was amazing and the patio dining was a nice atmosphere.

I’ve been coming here for several years with my husband and/or friends. The food is always delicious and I love that everything is so fresh. They often have great specials and the outdoor patio is WONDERFUL. I also cannot say enough good things about the service. I truly do not think we have ever had a waitress/waiter that was not super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. It’s so nice to see constancy in standards!
