The wines were not really my taste, and while the staff was nice, they were not especially helpful in guiding the experience. It was fine overall, but nothing that would make me want to return.
Took the winery tour and the tour guide was rude and very passive aggressive. Also noticed her giving dirty looks to various customers who were not moving fast enough by her standard. Will not return just to be treated poorly.
Great wine!
The Crystal Cave was absolutely stunning! The crystals inside were so unique and worth seeing. Our tour guide made the experience even better; he was very knowledgeable and explained everything in a way that was easy to understand. After exploring the cave, we walked through the winery itself where we learned about how the wines and grape juice are made. It was really interesting to get a peek into the production process. We finished with a tasting at the bar, with the tall pretty woman who gave us the tour in which was a great way to end the tour. Overall, a fun and educational experience! would recommend to anyone and families or singles!
Tourist trap if you ask me. I'll break it down.
You feel rushed every step of the way. The cave is very small, but so cool. However, I had to google the story about the cave - which in fact is really interesting - because the guide (a young and very unenthusiastic guy) shared the briefest details and let us walk around by.
The staff was very loud talking to each other at all times, sharing their personal stories and details.
The wine tour guy spoke with the speed of light taking you from one room to the other, literally merging words together while explaining and he got us out of there in literally 5 minutes.
I came intrigued, I was really hoping to hear the stories and to learn something new, not just to be charged $14 and get a 10-min robotic tour to make time for the next tour of people.
Wine was not bad, it's why I'm giving 2 stars, try the Chablis.
The 2 quick tours were $14 for both. They don’t sell the tours separately. First check out the world’s largest geode-very cool. Then have a look at how wine is made. Lastly, enjoy a cup of either wine or grape juice with your ticket. Fun experience for the whole family. I would bring my kids here to check this out.
One of my favorite places to visit, have never had a better sangria in my entire 65 years. Staff is incredible as well as owner. Love stopping by every summer
We 1st visited Heineman winery the summer of 2023, we loved it! We now order the sweet belle wine and have it delivered to our house in Mn! We will return one of these years as we loved the island and Heineman Winery!!
Super cool, lowkey reminded me of the mystery shack, staff was nice, over all really cool
I have been here many times and sold their wine as well. You will love the tour almost as much as their ice wine. 👌💯🏆

I visited Heineman’s Winery on my birthday during a weekend trip to Put-in-Bay, and I couldn’t have asked for a better stop to end the evening. The wine was delicious (I tried a rosé I’m still trying to identify 👀), the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and the staff made the experience genuinely memorable.
One team member in particular went out of her way to make me feel celebrated — recommending a wine, serving the last of the bottle, and sharing a moment that made the whole trip stand out. Whether you’re a local or a traveler, this is the kind of place that reminds you how small gestures can leave a lasting impression.
Can’t wait to come back and grab a bottle (or three) of whatever that mystery pour was. Thank you, Heineman’s, for being part of such a great day. 🍷✨
The Niagara wine was the best.
We walked in but didn’t end up staying as it was super chaotic inside. So many people and kids running around - I think there might have been a tour group stopped there. Unfortunately not the winery vibes we were looking for!
We enjoyed everything about the winery 🖤
tour guide seemed drunk and a little aggressive in speaking
the main attraction was a little cave not the winery
once you see the cave all they show you are a few utensils, still dont know how the wine is made after the tour
grape juice was bad
