This place was packed on a Saturday when we stopped with our kids, but surprisingly great service and food! Our waiter was great and helped us figure out the best menu items since we had never eaten here. The food was all amazing! The chicken tenders, brats, kale coleslaw, burger, all was amazing! We would definitely visit again when we are at Put-in-Bay.

Chose the Boathouse for lunch after reading the many positive reviews. The restaurant is well situated, nice inside and the food was great. However, the service we received was abysmal. After being shown to our table we were served quickly and the waitress took our order, 30 mins later, no sign of the food. Another member of staff asked us if everything was ok, we told him how long we had been waiting and he said he would chase things up. Our waitress then appeared, apologised for the delay and told us our food would be out in a few minutes. It took another 30 minutes before we eventually were served, and that was despite several complaints, and then empty promises it would be out in a couple of minutes. It's a pity as the meal was good, but I would not go back to this restaurant or recommend it !

Just went 8-19-2023 got there 5:45 pm waited 30 minutes for a waitress and had to snag one myself just for drinks. 2 other tables sat down after us already had appitizers and drinks !!! Since we had waited over 30 minutes we gave our order same time..at 7:40 they were not even packed. With open tables .we got served subpar burgers, and chicken salad. Snitzel and mozz stix. Our waitress rachel did not even offer to refund the discusting salad or seemed to care !! She grouped our two families together on one check in my opinion just to force a 24% gratuity . I was totally pissed that she automatically grouped us on one check for this purpose like a scam. Would never eat there again

Food was normal, drinks are good. The menu is not correct possibly? Got charged extra for walleye dinner as salmon dinner, but the menu didn't reflect that. We also didn't order a walleye dinner, but got charged for it.
Really good food with a vegan option!!! I was not expecting to be able to eat anything here but was super excited to see on the menu a black bean burger. And our server Devin was very nice and checked with the kitchen to confirm that the burger was vegan. He also confirmed that the fries are fried in canola oil. I was super happy to have this as an option and it was really good. Kinda pricey but same as the rest of the island. It would be great if at some point they added another vegan option since they already are attracting vegans with their black bean burger, but I truly cannot complain considering it’s put in bay and the options are nonexistentVegetarian options: Very good black bean burger!!

Went on a Thursday before the huge PIB crowds and ate here. We had two dogs with us and the restaurant and staff were great with us and the dogs. Food was decent- standard bar stuff but I’d definitely come again.

Ate there and was very disappointed. Got Perch and Walleye dinner . Walleye was delicious. Perch not sure what it was it was not Perch taste like garbage. Taste like something you would get off a food service delivery truck . Sorry i went there . Went to Mossbacks 2 days in a row and got Perch dinner!!!! Best i ever had . And i am not advertising for them . I would never eat at Boathouse again ! Bla
