My wife and I had dinner at Ferris last Saturday prior to attending a performance at Playhouse Square. She had a filet special and I had a Delmonico steak. Both were prepared exactly as ordered and were delicious. The potato soup we had as an appetizer was to die for. Everything about the food experience was top notch, including the service. The only negative parts of the evening were that we were seated near a window and were a bit chilly, and there was a large group of 12-14 people behind us who were fairly loud and distracting. But that can happen anywhere. It had been quite some time since we visited Ferris, but we will be sure to return soon.

We always enjoy Ferris Steakhouse. Food is great, nice presentation and prepared as asked. The wait staff is always very pleasant and attentive.

The food was great as always. Our server was terrific. It did feel like they were trying to rush the service though. Our entrees were brought out shortly after we got our salads with the explanation of they had a full list of reservations. We were one of those reservations, so why the rush?

Dinner was fantastic. What I care about most when visiting a steakhouse is whether these folks know how to cook a steak. They do. My petite filet mignon was incredibly soft and my sister's Delmonico was beautifully flavorful. We both chose medium doneness, and I would say mine was a tiny bit under, but my steak melted in my mouth. My wedge salad had beautifully crisp lettuce and veg, a lovely, creamy blue cheese dressing, and a diabolically good balsamic drizzle. My sister's Caesar was in a tangy parm vinaigrette with wonderfully crisp croutons. Salads were perfect. Bread was seemingly baked for us, and was warm, soft, delicious, and generously offered. For sides we both chose broccoli, which was lightly buttered and well seasoned. I had intended to order a sauce béarnaise, but I forgot, and when the filet came it just looked so perfect on its own, it needed nothing more. We finished with creme brûlée and chocolate mousse cake. I don't go out to eat all that often, but when I do I want to eat something that is better than I can cook myself. I want service that is neither intrusive nor impossible to waive down. I want to spend my time thinking about my companion and our conversation, and enjoying each treat as it arrives. It's always tricky figuring out where to go, and it can be challenging finding a reservation for a time that works for us. This was a fantastic meal served by lovely folks in a great atmosphere complete with roaring fire, Christmas garland, and holiday tunes. There may be more elegant dining rooms out there with more glamorous wait staff - that's not what I value. I had a great meal served by great folks. Ferris is really a fantastic choice for a great midwestern steak. I hope your visit there is as satisfying as ours was.

The steaks were very good! One of us ordered the beef short ribs and was expecting a bone in short rib. Instead, it was slices of beef short rib. The menu did not identify it as being sliced. But still, the flavor was very good. The atmosphere reminded me of a steakhouse from the 80s or 90s. But the restaurant was drafty. I had to keep my knit hat on at all times in order not to be cold. The service was excellent! Our server was attentive, but not overbearing. I wish more servers would be like her.

The steaks were exceptional! We had drinks, appetizers, main course and desserts. Everyone loved it and it was pleasantly quiet for conversations. Thank you to the crew for the perfect service!!

Our overall experience was excellent. The food was good....loved the stuffed peppers appetizer. Salads were fresh tasting and appropriate size. The Delmonico was cooked to perfection as was the short ribs special. What they lacked in pizzazz was made up for with spot on execution. Our service was efficient and she eventually warmed up a bit and became slightly conversational. The room was comfortable but for our 5:30 reservation the server/bartender back of the house chitchat was way too loud. It was one off color comment away from ruining the dinner. I was mostly disappointed in the laminated menus and lack of being offered a wine list or menu. Those two things aren't deal breakers but disappointing given the vibe and atmosphere of the room.

Food quality wasn't great, steak was tough. Ordered medium well and received well done. Also ordered the steak sandwich and was kind of rubbery. Not worth the high menu prices. Cold A/C too. Service was great by Brooke. Steak was tough and didn't have alot of flavor
It was just ok the waiter didn't come back to table to see were we ok or needed anything else and didn't full water glasses up beside from when she brought them

Great food, drinks were well made and service was exceptional. Jake was a newer server but hit every step of service, was fast, attentive and well read on the menu. Only thing not perfect was our table- it vibrated. Like it was directly over a compressor or something, it was making the plates rattle. Not a huge thing, but definitely detracted from an otherwise perfect meal.
