Very nice wholesome experience

I've stopped here a few times. The strawberry sundae was pretty good and the service has always been great. I did get lunch here a few days ago and enjoyed it. The fresh-cut fries were good, I also bought the Philly cheese steak. In my opinion, it needs more peppers, onions, and cheese but I will ask for that next time. My dog loved his hotdog as well. I recommend stopping in for a treat or a meal. I know I will be back soon. I just wished they were open on Monday when I'm usually in the area.

If you are looking for some good old times vibes and good food, and root beer, this is the place for you. On our first visit, we order a platter which included a side and small drink. We had the foot long with some fries and onion rings. There are at least three root beers, Mug, IBC, and Barq's from which to choose. The fries were a tad salty and limp, but serviceable I wish they had a crispy crinkle cut. That would fit the vibe better. The onion rings were top notch, nice solid onion inside, wonderfully battered and crispy on the outside. The footlong hotdog was great. I asked for spicy mustard, but just got a side of yellow. I look forward to returning and trying their burgers.

Tried a variety of items from the menu and all of them were excellent. My favorite was the shredded chicken sandwich and mozzarella sticks. My kids loved the milkshakes! We will definitely be back!

My friend and I brought our kids to play putt putt (ages 3, 4, and 12) and eat lunch. We all had a great time! The putt putt course was so fun and a great addition to the lake! The food is really good. The fries are like the kind you get at the fair and this is my second time having a burger. Delicious! I think the prices are pretty on par with the rest of the lake and they have put a lot of money into this place to revive it. It was such an eyesore and we are so glad that it is not run down anymore! And they have dole whip, like at Disney!!!

We have eaten here twice, the first time I got the Shell Yeah burger and fries. It was about $14 (I don’t remember exactly). The burger was fine, wasn’t a $9+ burger though. The fries were great though. We had ice cream of some kind that day, I don’t remember what we got. My second visit was for desert, our group tried lots of different things, shake was good, hard dip ice cream was good, soft serve float missed the mark. It wasn’t bad, but when I get a root beer float from a place called the root beer stand, I expect it to knock my socks off. It felt like the soft serve just wasn’t cold enough or something. Maybe next time I’ll try hard dip and make sure I have time to eat it there in a frosted mug?Bottom line, I’ll be back for ice cream and floats, not sure about the regular food (I am a sucker for a good hot dog though so I probably need to try their 1/2 lb footlong!)Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly, not a ton of shade when they are busy though.

My only reason for a number four rating is that we only ordered drinks. Which were very good. I had a shake and it was very thick and good. I'll have to try your food to give a five! So... I'll be back. The put-put being back was an added bonus.

The idea of this place is really cool and brings you back to simpler times. The execution of it just needs to be polished a bit and it could be a staple for years to come. They played a lot of Elvis and other 50/60's music to set the ambiance. The coney was good and the chili had a unique sweet taste to it. Not as good as Skyline that's forsure but good. The putt putt course was fun but they need to make the surface you start on wider so you can stand comfortably without hanging off the edges. Prices were fair and the service was nice. My other recommendation would be to figure how to make a root beer float in the frosted mug since you're called The Root Beer stand. Was handed to me with soft served in a mug and root beer in a separate cup, just odd.

Nice little place. The cheeseburgers were good and made with fresh ground beef not frozen. The french fries were also good, and the service was great. My only complaint was no indoor seating.

Compare this picture to those on the online menu. The only thing pretzel about them is the salt. Skip the nachos too. The chili dog was excellent though.

$13.00 for a hot dog and Onion rings. Charged 99 cents for Chili on the dog and 50 for onions. Put cheez on the dog which was not ordered. Onion rings were oversized and over greasy.Waste of money, only one other car in the parking lot and that was a lil family from Michigan, she kept walking up and asking where there food was.Nasty inedible food. Ended up in the trash. Won't go back there again. ?

Was our first time eating there and while the food, footlong Coney, pizza burger, mushrooms, were good it was WAY overpriced! Came out to a dollar per mushroom, $7 for a Coney and $9.90 for a hamburger patty and 2 mozzarella sticks!!RESPONSE: that is an easy fix, we just wont be back! and will make sure everyone knows that a hamburger with 2 mozzarella sticks is just shy of $10! and I can reduce stars all I want. how is that

I was so looking forward to eating here, but was very disappointed with the prices compared to the quality. Mozzarella sticks was very good and hot the A&W root beer very good, but the burgers were extremely dry and thin, there were sweet pickles on the burger (which I removed) .30 cents extra per sandwich. 4 pickles per sandwich. I prefer dill pickles, was not told if there was an option on pickles or the onion. The onion was grilled pieces and I do mean pieces (maybe 8 chopped pieces) and they were .30 cents. I ordered mayo and did not receive any mayo at all. $1.00 for a piece of cheese on one burger. So for 2 dry burgers, 2 Mozzarella, 2 root beers was $32.00 not including a tip.

The Family and I visited the Root Beer stand and I must say I love this place. The food was great and the server Maria was awesome and very sweet and very helpful. She had a smile on her face as she served and cleaned and helped a lot of people. The surrounding was very clean and well kept. I loved the coney dog and union rings and the pretzel bites. My son had the chicken chunks and fries and the root beer float. The atmosphere here is awesome!
