Absolutely exquisite! Thank you Neil. Thank you Alex! Thank you Avery. In my best Arnold voice … I’ll be back!
Absolutely top notch service! Beautiful scenery!!! Go there! You won't regret it!!
Me and my family took a trip to this winery on a Saturday afternoon. We were wanting to do some wine tastings, the usual wine tastings were 6 glasses. We were told we couldn’t do that since it was “dinner time” and they don’t do tastings at that time because they are busier. They weren’t too busy or overwhelmed. There was no advertisements on their Facebook saying no tastings past a certain time. The lady we had didn’t know how to describe any of the wines to enhance our experience. Had to have the owner come over that acted like he could care less since we didn’t have a reservation. All round terrible experience. Don’t recommend. Will not be back.
Great experience! We love the wine suggestions and the ahi tuna dish was amazing! Highly recommend.
Last time we were here service was extremely slow.. Much better at serving and setting this time around. Our food was good. The bread and oil is the best. Server was knowledgeable of food. We ordered salmon, chicken and steak dinners. Chicken is not what you would expect, flavor was mediocre at best, salmon was good, steak was good. Now let’s get to the wine. I would have loved to tried a flight however, I was told that they were too busy to do flight during dinner hours, the owner (who we found out later was the owner) recommended the white wine with the grape grown on site…. The wine was lovely! However, (owner not so much) the billing is something to be determined. The wine bill comes separate, so you pay two seperate bills. The owner personally delivers the wine and the bill for the wine. The food bill comes from the server. We were paying cash and were confused on how to pay for the tip. Owner is rude and neither the owner or the server was able to explain why they bill individually! Basically the owner was rude and just wanted to get the check and said he was too busy , he didn’t care how the tip was left. At this point there was only 6 tables left, maybe he had a long day) (hire someone to serve the wine if you’re too busy) I just wanted to put down the total and be done. I will not recommend this place, Being an owner of multiple companies over years and years I would never be that rude to anyone that spent money at my establishment. Then on our way out we saw that other table had flights of wine… what the heck. Just make time. When you spend almost 300 to eat out, there should be the common edict as an owner to take the time.
Great overall experience. The food and wine was delicious. The staff and service was excellent.
Was having an awful day but Lilly our sever seemed to turned everything around. We will continue to come here just to see her
Food and wine were great! Our waitress was one of the best we've ever had! R!
Vibe is weird and awkward. The hostess seemed annoyed we showed up with no reservation and that it was an inconvenience to sit us. We sat on the covered patio; it was soooooooooo quiet, no music or much of any noise really... not even crickets. It felt like you were in a library and couldn't speak louder than a whisper. The (male)owner was constantly coming to our table to tell us dirty jokes that were outdated and not funny. Our server was young and clearly new, but she did ok for only being there a couple weeks. The food, wine and views aren't really anything amazing to write home about. The vibe is not welcoming. Not worth going back.
I had a wonderful experience at Shade winery this evening. I haven’t been able to visit for several years because I work at Pleasant Hill winery nearby, and our hours are very similar. I happened to have the night off and attended an event that was hosted at Shade. The food was amazing as well as the wine. I tried the estate Vidal Blanc as well as the Sangiovese and Chardonnay. Neil, the owner, was especially kind in allowing me to taste these last two wines that he was especially proud of. I bought a bottle of the Sangiovese to take home. It was lovely. The outside seating is very inviting, and the staff was incredibly friendly. I will definitely be back.

Our 4th wedding anniversary was beautiful. 😄
Very nice good food great wine.
We stopped here for the first time today on our way home from a grad party at OU- we didn't have a reservation but there only 2 of us so we were seated right away- beautiful setting, indoor and outdoor options depending on weather- wine excellent and the food was outstanding, service exceptional- we will make a reservation next time, will definitely be visiting here again. Reservation not required but highly recommended ( we lucked out because it was OU graduation and prom night)
Incredibly rude senior staff. Food was overpriced and cold. Wine was warm and lacked flavor. Have been here 4 times and has never been good, will not return. Was rushed out.
We were hoping for a charming, southern Ohio winery. What we got was a rushed experience with average wine. We were herded like cattle into the bar area. The owners acted like we were an inconvenience because we didn't have a reservation, and they were starting dinner service. There were about 5 tables seated in the dining area, and nobody beating down the door to get in. This place needs to decide if it wants to be a restaurant or a winery. The female owner didn't even let us pick our flight. She chose the wines herself.
