A New favorite for us, we had the steak and a really tasty Pinot noir. The restaurant has a wider variety of wines than the ones they sell retail, including some dry reds and whites. The location is really wonderful, you get the southeast Ohio visual experience. Easy to get to just off of route 33. The owners take great pride in the experience you have, and the waite staff are very positive and engaged. We also liked the appetizer baked boursin cheese in a pastry was outstanding. Very Romantic place

The atmosphere, service and view were great. The steak I had wasn't as good as I expected, but the other people I was with, who didn't get the steak, enjoyed their food.

Beautiful winery! Great selection of wines to sample and enjoy! The menu was small, but excellent! Will definitely be back!

This place blew us away! We were on a road trip down south and wanted to make a quick stop for lunch so we randomly chose the Terrace Cafe, located conveniently right off I-77. Needless to say, we were not expecting enjoying ourselves this much.They offered beautiful outdoor seating with a view of the vineyard. Service was top notch - our server, Hannah, took great care of us and the owner was so kind and warm. We ordered the soup of the day which was so good, tasted just like your mom would make it. Burger with bacon was probably one of the best tasting burgers I've ever had and sirloin special was absolutely phenomenal. Everything was prepared perfectly and felt very "homey". They had a great deal on wine flights which we didn't get a chance to enjoy, but the tables around us seemed to love it. On top of everything, we noticed the restaurant was short staffed with only two servers and no hostesses, and we still had an incredible time. Highly recommend this spot!

Hubby and I shared a charcuterie board and the French dip Au jus and both were good. Our server, Hunter, was great and super friendly. Plan to go back next spring or summer when it's warmer and everything is in bloom.

Was so looking forward to dinner with wine on the patio/deck. Called to make sure the winery was open until 9 but understood the kitchen closed at 8. Was told they did not take reservations. My husband and I arrived at 6:45 and were told there would be a 10 minute wait. After about that amount of time, the hostess said the kitchen was closing soon, and if we wanted dinner, we would have to eat inside because we would have to wait an hour to get a table outside, not what we were told when we got there. We said ok, but after we were seated, found out that 3 of the entrees weren’t available. The menu was very limited to start with. We asked that our salads come before our entrees, but they came after we had almost finished our entrees. Because of Covid, we were somewhat apprehensive about eating inside; the main reason we chose this place to eat is so we could eat outside. People came inside without masks to use the bathroom and to order wine. Very unsettling. We were on edge the entire time we were inside. So, we will not return unless the winery takes reservations in the future.

Very relaxing Saturday evening dining outside on a beautiful June night! We had salmon, ribeye, and hamburger. All entrees were very good! Nice quiet location!!

We are on a weekend getaway. We searched wineries and stoped in to Shade Winery. Wow! What an experience! We did wine tasting and then ordered a meal from the restaurant. Both were FABULOUS! The staff was courteous and friendly. We could sit here on the porch for hours! Thank you for a wonderful evening!

Great food ! Great atmosphere !

Shade Winery recently added a kitchen building to their operation and this led to a new experience for guests as well as the staff who were a bit overwhelmed by the great response the community gave Shade their first week of (food) operations. On that note, they no longer permit food to be brought in for those of you who have done so in the past. I've captured photos of the menu that was in place the evening we were there. Food was quite good; portions not especially large but certainly adequate. This was my first visit, but I went with friends who had been several times and liked the wines. I was not overly impressed but my palate leans more toward big, bold flavors and characteristics that were lacking. That's just my opinion - you should try a flight there and make up your own mind. And have a nosh while you're at it. The location is beautiful and I was happy to see that we were allowed to walk among some of the vines after dinner.
