The Q is the best! We love their pulled pork sandwiches with mild BBQ sauce. The Mac and Cheese is awesome too.

This is the third time that we have ordered from Shelby Q.... Each time sides such as corn casserole macaroni mashed potatoes have been very dried out... Even more disappointing is how dry crispy and old the meat is. We have tried, pulled pork, brisket, and shredded chicken. Today we ordered a couple of meals, including pulled pork combo. I'm including a picture of the pulled pork and you can see it is extremely dried out hard to chew this sand is going in the garbage :((

first time trying was today. I had the dog and slaw platter with baked beans, corn casserole and potato salad. this was some of the best food I've had around here. they are very reasonable priced. 10/10 would recommend and go again
I wanted to like this place. The owner seems like a great guy. But folks the food is not good or authentic. I will guarantee the food is not smoked especially the morning of. If so what kind of smoker and what wood? The meat are all dry shredded and crumbly. Why can't I get a nice piece of moist brisket sliced? The food is hiding behind the sauce. Take a trip to smokin Bros for authentic local Q!

This was my 1st time at this business. As a person can see from the stars, I am very impressed with the food and will be returning. I ordered the pick 4 so I could decide using a variety of meats. I had ribs, pulled pork, chicken, and brisket. I also purchased coleslaw.... loved it ! Business open for take out with just a couple tables. I'd highly suggest you stop and vice driving by like I have since they opened.

The guy running this place confuses me. His rules about which sides to get in order to create a platter so that you get a drink and a pickle spear is complicated, to say the least. However, in my opinion, the food is pretty good and the prices are reasonable. I'll continue to eat here.

Restaurantji Recommends
Very good food. Get the mac n cheese.
This place isn't exactly fancy, but the food is 100% made with love in a slow cook smoker as true BBQ should be, I recommend the brisket and cole slaw. 3 kinds of homemade BBQ sauce for different tastes, nothing too spicy. Definitely see this 1 man operation, true BBQ fans will not be disappointed.

Ordered thru door dash, food came cool to the touch, smelled like dog food and was super dry. I hate to say this but the most edible thing in here was the pickle spear. Ps. I ordered the pulled pork platter
Moved from the Carolinas recently where BBQ restaurants are plentiful and good. I was surprised to see this little place tucked into Shelby I was worried the only good BBQ was south of the Mason Dixon line. Stopped in for lunch grabbed a pulled pork sandwich and had the spicy sauce, on the side as it should be. Pork had good smoke flavor and was pulled apart well. Now in the South if you are having a meal you had better have a good Mac and cheese to go along not boxed junky. This Mac and cheese was well put together, tasted and appeared to be made in house. It was a great place to eat. Cannot wait to get back and get some more food.
This is my 1st time ordering from this establishment and probably will will be my last everything had a refrigerated taste of other things it didn't taste like it should it just wasn't very good the brisket that we got was dry just wasn't very good at all.
