My hometown landmark diner, is older than I am. Stopped in visiting family. Pie is still pretty solid. Cashier seemed actively angry to be there. Coffee kinda bad. Not as clean as it used to be.
This place has been around a long time and it shows. If you like the nostalgic side of the old booths and tables, then that's a good thing. The cashier at the counter was friendly, which is important for a counter-serve restaurant. Food was ok, not as great as I expected based on other reviews. I had the Brawny Lad and the meat was nothing spectacular, but the toppings were plentiful. The cold slices of bread were a bit disappointing. They don't need to be grilled but...
This is the “least good” of the historic burger places I’ve been to in Western Ohio (Kewpee, Hamburger Wagon, Crabill’s, etc.) There is a charm to these other restaurants but The Spot just felt run down. The Big Buy burger had tiny patties on it and the buns were stale, but the flavor profile was good. The service wasn’t overly friendly. That being said, the fries were some of the best I’ve had… they had a light batter on them and were hot and fresh. I won’t go...
