The food is beyond wonderful. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Can't wait to come back. The Crab Bisque reminded me of growing up in Baltimore.

Amazing experience. Bread and soft butter prepared when ordered upon arrival. Light crunchy crust sweet perfect. The calamari was fresh light tender and complemented by the sweet spicy sauce. The Carbanara was fantastic as prepared in Rome. Beef short ribs were tender and paired with creamy flavorful risotto. The carrots were fresh tender and sweet. The bread pudding was an unusual presentation that is original fresh light and unique. Shy is a place not to be missed. We will drive the 2 hours to return again! Excellent in all aspects.

This restaurant is a must for anyone in the area. The atmosphere is relaxing and quaint, simple and elegant decor. And the servers are at the highest level I've ever experienced. And the food is truly a culinary dream! The prime rib is the best I've ever had! We will definitely be back!!!

Hands down the best place to eat in Tuscarawas county. Foodies will not be disappointed. Elegant menu, much locally sourced and organic. Excellent wine menu. Owner and staff do their best to make your dining experience special.

We went on Valentine's Day weekend. Though the restaurant was busy, our server, Traci, was attentive and friendly. Because of the holiday, the menu included some items not normally available, such as lobster. There was plenty of variety to choose from. The portions were good. I would definitely go back.

Excellent food. The best prime rib I have had in a long time! The staff was very attentive and friendly. The Chef and staff did a wonderful job and everything was wonderful. It's a great place for a special date! The dessert was expertly prepared and very, very good. While it was a busy night, I didn't feel forgotten in any way.

Had a very very good meal for lunch at Shy Cellars. Susan served us today and her attention to detail, her warmth and care made our outing very special. The food was wonderful. The menu is short but well thought out with selections to please almost every palate. We had a wine flight to sample from their cellar selections and each was memorable. Susan even added a sample of a Cabernet she selected. Our shared lunch included the lobster bisque, Caesar salad, and the best carbonara we have ever eaten! We finished with Affogato, homemade vanilla icecream with a caramel drizzle, served with a side of Frangelico and Espresso. We will be back for more.

My husband I were spending an early Valentine's day celebration at a B & B up near Amish Country and wanted to go someplace nice for dinner. The owner of the B & B said whenever they have special occasion~anniversaries, birthdays, etc. they always go to Shy Cellars. We made a reservation for 6:00 and were the first ones to arrive. But very quickly people started coming in who also had reservations. First of all let me say our server, Val, was awesome! Even though I saw her waiting on other tables she made us feel like we were her only customers. We started the evening with a drink~I had an amaretto with cranberry juice and my husband had a dirty martini. They were both excellent! Salads were not included in the price of the dinner but both of our salads were very good. I had the house salad with cranberries, raisins, feta cheese and nuts and my husband had the grilled cauliflower salad. She brought us out a small loaf of warm, crusty bread with some Italian herbs on the crust and it was delicious! I had the grilled prime rib (medium rare) with creamy risotto and they offered brussel sprouts with it. I'm not a big fan of brussel sprouts and asked if I could substitute another vegetable and they were nice and said I could. I ordered a side of carrots and they were good. My husband had the pasta carbonara and it came with shrimp. I love prime rib but I had never had grilled prime rib and I can honestly say I LOVED IT! I ordered it medium rare and it was cooked just the way I like it and was a really large piece...I ate what I could and took the rest home and had it for dinner the next night. My husband said his pasta was very good and filling. Again, I can't say enough about how nice Val was and professional. If we're ever back in the area again we will definitely go back!

My husband and I went to Amish country for a relaxing weekend. We hadn’t stayed in the area in the last 6 or 7 years and we were thrilled to see Shy Cellars pop up when we were searching for places to eat. We decided to go pretty early (about 30 minutes after they opened) since we had no idea what to expect. It looked like it could be one of the nicest restaurants in the area and we didn’t have a reservation. It’s a good thing we did because they were booked solid. There was only one option was that if we could be out within an hour and a half so that they would be ready for an existing reservation they would be able to accommodate us. We were happy to have an opportunity to dine there. We started with a Malbec wine and also split a roasted cauliflower salad. There were a number of dressings to try, all made in-house. We chose the Italian. It was delicious, light, with a slight sweetness to it and flavorful. I ordered spaghetti (also made in-house) with meatballs which was great. My husband ordered the Shy filet with a side of vegetables and a side of potatoes au gratin, made with layers of Idaho and sweet potatoes which were rich and incredible. He said his filet was perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked and was the best one he’d had in a long time. Afterwards we shared a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream drizzled with salted caramel and chocolate. The whole experience was pleasant. Our server, Traci, was attentive, knowledgeable and so friendly. The entire staff was wonderful. We look forward to returning to the area, but with a reservation.

We were invited to SHY Cellars by a friend before a concert in New Philadelphia and were very pleasantly surprised. I never thought there would be restaurant of this level in Strasburg, Ohio. The Chicken Piccata I had was delicious, well balanced, and definitely an entree I’d order again. My wife loved her Ricotta Gnocchi, although she was surprised by the high proportion of wild mushrooms to gnocchi. The house salad is very unusual. The grilling of the Romaine does give it a more complex flavor than usual; it just wasn’t the easiest salad to eat because of how it’s served. With the house made gnocchi and linguine and the other tasty fresh ingredients, this is a very special little restaurant. Highly recommended!
