I wish I could give 0 stars!!! It was so DISAPPOINTING.We had GRUMPYS signature. The bacon was fried so crispy it tasted like CHICHARONNES (pork skins), The sausage tasted like they fried it in the bacon grease. The scrambled eggs were meh ?.The coffee SUCKED!!! We had so much regret, we learned a lesson to go to our usual MAYBERRY DINER.GRUMPYS DOWNTOWN is waaaay better.

Wow. This may be up there with my worst experience at a restaurant ever. We waited 15 mins to even see a server after seating ourselves. There weren't more than 4 tables including us the entire time and it was absolutely the worst service we have ever had. We ordered breakfast and we were told they were out of breakfast potatoes so we ordered a different breakfast dish, only to be told 10 minutes later they weren't serving breakfast. We then ordered lunch, and 15 minutes after we ordered she came to tell us they were out of corned beef. At this point, we asked for the bill to cover my son's food (thankfully he got to eat) and we were told they my husband's was already finished so we asked for it to go .... only to wait 20 more minutes for it to never come out. When it finally came out, the server gave a pathetic apology and kept saying how hectic it was ... with all of their 10 customers they had while we were there?!? Guess they didn't want to miss out on the $21 for a burger. We are so disappointed. Don't go here.

Came on a Saturday for a lunch with family. One party of 5 was seated in advance of our arrival and had already placed their order. With having two cooks and two servers, and it being “slow” the time it took to get our order was impressively slow. Additionally, the bread of my Reuben sandwich was only grilled on one side.

I should have known not to stay. Walked in 5 days before Christmas and there was 1 other table of customers at lunchtime. Ordered a grilled chicken sandwich that came with a handful of chips for $14.

I've been here a few times since it's been open and every time has been a disappointment. I guess I always assumed it would eventually get on par with the downtown Toledo location (which is excellent on all fronts) after they worked the kinks out of things and got into their groove so that's why I've given it multiple attempts. My food the first couple times was fine but not as good as the DT Toledo spot and the service here is severely lacking. The last time I went with several other family members, they were practically empty, and it took so long for us to get any help with anything that we eventually gave up and left without eating. People's reviews aren't one-off personal experiences...it's truth in numbers. The place can be practically empty and theyre sluggish as hell and often don't have items on the menu. Also, just my opinion, but the vibe of the place is cold and sterile. You can tell their going for a light and modern feel probably because it's a narrow little place, which is logical, but it completely misses the mark in my opinion...enough so that it actually feels uncomfortable being in their (just my personal feeling). If I ever go back...I'm just getting take out.

A Sunday afternoon we called around 12:40pm to order a Grumpy’s salad To-Go. The waitress was unsure, if it was available. She checked and it was. We picked our salad up around 1pm got home and realized they gave us no dressing. This salad cost $17.50 for that price you should get 2 containers of dressing. Anyways I tried calling at 1:20pm to let them know my husband would be coming to pick up dressing no answer. My husband than had to go knock on the door to get poppyseed dressing this was 1:25pm. They are supposed to close at 2pm. The waitress answered said they closed early and they were running out of dressing not sure if they had any. She came back with a half filled cup and said that was all they had. My husband gets home dumps the salad into a bowl and finds rotten spinach. I reached out to Grumpy’s on Sunday through their site never heard anything and it is 3 days later. Also we got charged sales tax on a food To-Go order is that normal. We live in downtown Sylvania and I want to like Grumpy’s, but cannot due to the high prices, average food, and lack of customer service on a management level.

My daughter and I got Reubens. She had the traditional and I had the portobello Reuben which was delicious.

Went with family around noon and were seated at a dirty table. Our server immediately told us no breakfast available except for kids. Ordered mimosas, oh sorry, no Sunday alcohol. One of us is gluten free, server said they're supposed to have it but had to check. Nope, no gluten free bread. The place had 2 other tables seated, yet it took 20 minutes to get lukewarm coffee and canned pops. We cashed out and left. No wonder Grumpy's is empty on a Sunday afternoon.

Grumpy's was half empty. We could not get any service. Only one waitress working. After being ignored, we left hungry.

They do have good tasting salads. However, they are priced like New York City. $12 bucks for a side salad???

Nice, clean modern place but had a hard time getting to it and finding parking. Waitress was short and not friendly, and the food was very poor quality. Biscuits and gravy I would rate -8 and potato’s the same.

I ordered an omelette with bacon, sausage, cheese and tomato with the potatoes and toast. The egg part of the omelette was fine but the insides were burnt to hell. The potatoes were all burnt to hell and incredibly salty and there was no tomato, unless that too was black and blended in with the burnt meat. My friend ordered a side of bacon but was never served any. So needless to say I had toast for breakfast and thankfully she wasn’t charged for the bacon she didn’t receive. I asked for a garbage cookie and the server let me know they hadn’t been delivered any in over a month. Disappointing. There was only one other table in the restaurant as well which is odd for a Sunday, but like other reviews this seems common. The dressing needs to be bigger for the mini garbage salads too. I wish I would have taken a photo of my plate to show how inedible the food was.

New to the area and had high hopes for this place for breakfast. Unfortunately, our experience was pretty disappointing. The service was exceptionally slow with only two tables of customers. The coffee was not good, and the “latte” my husband ordered was not fit for human consumption. Our food literally took 40 minutes to arrive. Food was average, nothing special. I’ll try one more time, as maybe this was an off day?On a positive, restaurant was clean and smelled good.
