Ordered the salad bar and all the lettuce was turning black and brown. Totally disgusting. Let our server know and no one bothered to look at the salad bar or offer to replace the lettuce.

I can see why this location is never busy. Every time we come here it is a disappointment. Will NOT be back!

One of the best breakfast joints. Very saddened to hear it will be closing soon. Been coming here since I was a kid. Always great staff and quality food.

Frisch’s Big Boy has been closing a bunch of locations recently. I’ve been trying to support them as much. I enjoy the food at Big Boy, it’s very good. This location is an older one stuck in the 90s. The food was a little burnt but still edible and it was good. The service was great.

Sissy was our waitress, I came with 7 kids ranging in ages from 7-15 years old. Sissy was super patient and our food came out very timely. All the food was hot and delicious

The drive-thru line was heavy. After ordering, the car in front of us decided to leave, and when we got to the window, we were charged for their order. After discovering this and telling the cashier, she charged us the correct amount, but we found out later that she did not cancel the first charge. Also, when told to pull forward to wait, they first brought and tried to give us the wrong order. We sent it back and had to wait even longer for our correct order. No wonder they are closing stores all over.

I normally try to avoid chain restaurants when I travel, preferring instead to find locally- owned establishments that serve unique foods and/or offer interesting atmospheres and other appeals. But there are some chain restaurants that strike my nostalgic side, and one of them is Frisch’s Big Boy.

This particular Frisch’s Big Boy is located in Tipp City, Ohio, a small town located north of Dayton. It is right next to Interstate 75, so it is easy to get to when travelling. I was staying at the hotel across the street and as soon as I noticed there was a Frisch’s Big Boy walking distance away, I knew I had to pay a visit.

Frisch’s Big Boy has a wide assortment of American- style food, with appetizers, burgers, salads, all- day breakfast, and more. They have a nice selection of desserts and for those who would rather get carry- out, you can order ahead and pick up, or just head straight to the drive- thru to place your order.

My reasons for feeling nostalgic when I visit any Big Boy restaurant is that my family used to dine here frequently growing up, and I almost always went for the Big Boy Combination when I visited. For this most recent visit, I did the same thing, except this time, you create your own combo. Keeping with the old times, I ordered the two sides that were a standard part of the Big Boy Combination growing up: Fries and cole slaw. I enjoyed my Big Boy sandwich and it did bring back memories. The slaw was decent, too. But the fries were a bit of a letdown because they were too bland. If I had to do things over, I would have selected onion rings or something else.

Still, I enjoyed my time at Frisch’s Big Boy in Tipp City and part of the reason I’m going to round my rating up to four stars is the friendly, impeccable service I received. The person who waited my table was prompt, friendly, and made sure I was taken care of from start to finish.

Chain restaurants are not my usual choice for dining out. But Frisch’s Big Boy will always hold a special place for me, as it was probably the restaurant we visited most frequently growing up. Frisch’s Big Boy in Tipp City has much going for it, and I recommend a visit.

I try not to complain when going out to eat, I've worked in the food industry myself and I know how stressful it can be. On the other hand, it's 2024 and prices have skyrocketed, and I feel like I should be getting half-way decent service if I'm going to be paying $35+ and a tip for sit-down service. From the moment we walked into this restaurant, we waited to be seated for over 5 minutes, food on the breakfast bar needed flipped, and all around had less than satisfactory service. When we were finally seated, we had gone to the breakfast bar for several minutes and had not received our drinks for 5+ minutes after we had already sat down with our food. We had not been here for 5 minutes when the bill was sat down in front of us, so it was apparent that our server did not intend on returning to our table. When we needed refills, we waited 15+ minutes and did not see our server, so we asked another server(which i normally would not do). We then waited for another 5 minutes while we listened to the staff argue with each other back and forth about getting our refills. Overall a negative experience. We will be eating at the troy location from now on.
