Great cocktails and delicious tapas. Some of the best red salsa on the potato bravas I have ever had.

Good food and cocktails, it did take 1.5 hrs to get 4 tacos for a party of four. We weren't in a particular hurry, but seemed a bit long to wait.

First visit. Stopped for lunch. We shared 4 street tacos - 2 grilled shrimp and 2 fried walleye. They were awesome. So good. Ample servings, we ended up taking one home. Wife had an awesome Bloody Mary. I really liked this place. We will return for dinner and spend some time there. Love this place so far

Incredibly gracious staff. I had the pork belly tacos and tamale bites…LAWD! 10/10 don’t think about it. Just do it!
We recently held a family dinner with approximately 10-12 family members. Stephanie Lawson and our waitress, Katie, were phenomenal!! The menu choices were excellent and the food was outstanding. Chef Aaron Lawson made requested changes to certain menu items to accommodate several guests dietary needs and every item was perfect. We ordered five different appetizers, all of which were delicious; would especially recommend the Hummus with roasted vegetables, the Brussels sprouts and handmade mini donuts. The Chicken and Grits and Crusted Walleye were phenomenal!! The overall service, food quality and attention to every detail were “top shelf” and we will be visiting again very soon. Avestruz is exceptional and unique in every aspect. I am so excited to see Avestruz as part of the transformation of the historic Vistula Neighborhood in North Toledo. Bravo Zulu to Chef and Stephanie Lawson and their entire staff.
Avestruz is such a fantastic addition to the downtown 419 restaurant community. The atmosphere is relaxing, fun, artistic and full of great energy. What a great launching pad for the new Ostrich Town district! Chef Aaron and the entire team have created a menu that is creative and has something for everyone’s taste. Truly fantastic! We highly recommend the crab crusted walleye as well as the deep fried tamales. Every drink/spirit we have tried has been exceptional. We will definitely be back. This location will be so much fun to visit as the warm weather sets in and the Toledo Night life takes off come summer!!!
