“My boyfriend and I visited J. Alexander’s for the first time this Saturday evening. We had a reservation for 6 and were seated around 6:05, after checking in at 5:50. The young women at the hostess stand were extremely polite and friendly. The atmosphere inside the place is great. It’s quite dark, but I personally enjoy that. It was packed of course, being a Saturday night, but it didn’t feel claustrophobic. I think it’s cool that guests can look into the kitchen and see the cooks at work, although we were seated away from that section of the restaurant. After being seated, our waiter, Donny H., soon came by. He politely introduced himself and got us our drinks. My boyfriend and I are both pretty quiet people. Neither of us had questions about the menu and we had no requests for him throughout the meal. Even though he didn’t have much to work with, Don still did great with us!! Both of us enjoyed our food. I got the rotisserie chicken with smashed potatoes. For some reason, I didn’t realize it would come as a whole rotisserie chicken LOL. I kind of thought it would be cut up, but that’s definitely user error. The chicken was very tender and pretty easy to cut up on my own. While we were eating, I noticed that all of the wait staff seem to have excellent customer service skills. A few different waiters came by our table to clear plates, bring out our appetizer, etc. Every single one of them was as kind and gracious to as Don was, even though they weren’t getting tipped from us. I think that’s pretty rare to find. At the end of the service, Don even surprised us with carrot cake for free because it was our first time visiting. It was very kind of him. Maybe it’s just something he does to boost his tips, but hey, I respect the hustle!! And the carrot cake was dang good, even after taking it home and having it cold!! Overall a great experience. I’d definitely love to come back at some point even though it’s a bit of a drive for us.”

“Eclectic decor in a super cool old building that was the first building in Downtown Toledo to be wired for electricity! Wow we sent our compliments to the chef, everything was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. “It was Valentine's evening, had a Xmas gift card for Longhorn. It was packed inside and out at 6 pm, a 3 1/2 hour wait for seating. We left and called Olive Garden on Reynolds Rd. They had a one hour wait, we placed an order for pick up and it was ready at 7:20 as promised. Our dinners were perfect, hubby had salmon and I had chicken fettuccine, the food was hot and the staff sent the sides they serve in house - salad & dressing, breadsticks, etc. We had a delicious meal and we praise and thank the staff who were awesome.”

“Chef Erika Rapp never disappoints and every visit to this wonderful restaurant reaffirms it as my favorite place for our Anniversary dinner. I look forward to the coconut, chorizo and sweet potato steamed muscles that she has had on the fall menu consistently for the last 5 years. And being Gluten Free the care Chef Erika takes to offer many delicious options, means I can always find the perfect meal. Last night the fish dish was perfection, from the perfectly cooked cod, to the savory and slightly sweet delicata squash puree to the textural elements of the crisp broccolini and the crunch of the pomagranate and pepitas. And the dish paired wonderfully with a crisp Sauvignon Blanc. After enjoying a basket of gluten free pop-overs (another favorite treat) and appetizers I was stuffed, but the dish was too delicious to leave even one bite on the plate. Our server Miranda was fabulous. Attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and added so much to our dining experience. I highly reccommend.”

“This is my first time in Ohio, and after about an hour of searching for something to eat @4am, I finally found a place that was actually open — and I’m so glad it was this Subway.
First of all, being open 24 hours is a lifesaver. I walked in and was greeted right away. The woman making my sandwich was absolutely awesome — so welcoming, friendly, and genuinely kind. The gentleman working there was very nice as well.
As I was leaving, the cashier said, “Goodbye, sweetheart. Have a nice day.” That simple moment really meant a lot.
What an amazing atmosphere. You can tell they truly care about their customers and take pride in their work. I wish more places had employees like this. Thank you for making my first food stop in Ohio such a positive experience!”

“Angela is an amazing representation of IHOP! I don’t normally eat at IHOP, nor do I desire to eat in that area of town. On this particular evening I took my wife and daughter to order something for them to eat and then we were going to grab something to eat somewhere else for me. NOT IHOP. While that were waiting for their food, I went inside to use the restroom. Once I entered the restaurant, Angela greeted me and presented an overwhelming presence that assured the experience here would be a good and safe one. After the restroom break, I decided to sit down order something and eat. Angela was very attentive the whole time we were there ensuring our dining experience was a good one. In a matter of 2 weeks we’ve been back 3 times and will continue to be frequent customers. She made the experience feel as if we were dealing directly with the owner which made us comfortable and confident that we would be satisfied. Thank you again Angela…YOU’RE A GREAT GM!!!”

I asked to get extra sauce to take home and the waitress said it would cost $2.00 more. But she wasn’t sure. We had to ask again about the sauce after we paid the bill. She said they would not give us extra sauce!! Hmmm!! Really? So for all you that like extra sauce on your pizza… they don’t do that! Also, the waitress never took any of our dirty dishes away.”

I don['t know if the owner is aware of this as I don't see him there all the time.”

The amount that comes with the pho is not sufficient for the portion size so you will need more. There’s one server that’s awesome ( I think her name is Mariah ) She’s typically there when I visit and appears to have things under control even when it’s packed. I do feel they need more waitstaff however she holds her own & everyone receives prompt service.”

“Super great bar staff on Tuesday nights. He always remembers our order and always gets it right. Pizza's and salads are wonderful and would highly recommend both. On Tuesday night, 8/19 I was a little disappointed as they changed from paper plates and plastic silverware to China Plates and Real Silverware. I had a real knife that was serrated for a right-handed person and I am left-handed, lol. Please go back to paper and plastic as it feels more like home. Thanks”

“I placed an online order and drove over. When I arrived I was greeted by a friendly woman. I told her about my pickup and told her I was from out of town trying this chain for the first time. She was very nice and made sure I had all the sauces I needed. The food was delicious! Great service and great food. Would recommend!”

“Been here twice, once for Work and once for personal, both times they were phenomenal. Both times I've ordered named boneless wings with sauces on the side. Prices are beyond reasonable and biggest boneless wings out there.”

“Overall the food was amazing great flavor but service was lacking to put it nicely. We waited almost 15 minutes after ordering but was definitely worth the wait, tasted amazing. Unfortunately the wait/ service wasn’t great, we had to wave the waitress down after waiting for 15 mins to order than waiting another 20-ish minutes after asking to get our checks. Ended up here for roughly an hour and half and we’re the only table seated(4people), saw one person come in for a carry out order during this time. Ordering on time might definitely be the way to go. They never came back to refill our drinks and charged us for an avocado when we asked for the avocado on the side instead of inside our food. Outside of that very clean bathrooms were one of the cleanest we’ve been out so service is the only complaint we had.”
