Great food and conversation. The music was perfect for conversation or just eating to a nice tune. If you are in the downtown area I highly recommend checking this place out.

Even though this place may be the best Japanese restaurant in Toledo, the price is way too high, it's really easy for anyone to pay over $50, $70, or even $100 but is not full at all.
The overall taste is acceptable, the sushi and yakitori are high quality in the US, but only average or a bit below average in Japan. If anyone wants to experience a descent Japanese yakitori bar but doesn’t have a chance to take a trip to Japan in a short term, this place could be a good option.

Best sushi I’ve had since my trip to Japan this spring. Authentic atmosphere and menu offerings, great service, and of course, excellent food.

We ate sushi, sashimi, and yakitori? The sushi was small and easy to eat, and the ingredients were so fresh that you wouldn't think they were from America! The grilled red sea bream is also slightly salty and delicious!

Yakitori and sushi were both great.
The sea urchin in particular had no smell and was delicious.

Loved this place .. excellent sushi and yakitori. Best blue fin ❤️ The only thing I didn’t like was that I got there at 4:15 to add my name to a waiting list and didn’t get seated till 6:45 . I wish the reservation process was simplified.it was also very loud .. hard to have a conversation

My wife took me to Kengo for a birthday lunch. It was tasty and delicious. the staff is on point, greeting each and every customer with a loud salutation in japanese, really setting the atmosphere. The waitress got us in and out without seeming to rush us, the kitchen got our food out immediatley. the manager or owner, is to be commended for a great experience. Very Japanese feeling without going overboard making it cheesy! Once again top notch customer service!

My wife and I had been looking forward to this meal for a long time, came here for dinner with common knowledge of how waiting lists and supply and demand work so we planned/timed accordingly. A lot of the staff are the same amazing people that work at Kato so I knew it was going to be great service with mutual appreciation being evident. Now onto the food I went into it fairly open minded and unsure of what exactly to expect but I knew exactly what I wanted to order before I entered and my wife who is not as adventurous as most had plenty of options as well. The food showed up and it looked amazing and exactly what I ordered. The quality and flavor and portions were perfect and I think the prices were very fair. To summarize my experience in a few keywords would be Quality, Authentic and Traditional.

Ok i didnt think it was possible. Seriously to have the best sushi in Toledo OH!!?? Yep they did it. Freaking amazing. Jennifer was our server. We gave her the green light to bring us whatever. She/they did not disappoint. I literally woke up craving their sushi. The most unique place and best sushi. The GOAT.
Tons of great dishes. Try as much as you can. Yakatori items are all good. Sushi is amazing and try everything you can that is bacon wrapped. Great job

Food was excellent; but the music was way too loud and bass-heavy, both for the size of the dining room (which is tiny) and for the setting (it's a restaurant, you don't need thumping bass). It made conversation nearly impossible, and when we asked the staff to turn it down, they seemed oddly resistant to the idea, and would not turn it down hardly at all.

I can eat food of this quality in America.
surprised.
The quality is good, so the price is high.
Also, the waiting time is long.
