This was some of the best sushi I have ever had and that's saying something! The firecracker was phenomenal and the sushi was fresh and flavorful. We've been looking for a good sushi place here in Ohio and this is it. We got carry out due to covid and it was still amazing. Strongly recommend you try this place!

I've been a fan of this downtown sushi spot for years since living downtown, however I was recently eating in at the downtown location when I witnessed something that didn't sit right with me. A man from kitchen staff yelling loudly and rude at one of the waitresses literally using the words shut the f*** up amongst other choice language in front of clientele. Now I've worked in the restaurant industry so I understand it can get stressful but this was purely unprofessional and disrespectful to happen in general but also in a place and manner that was visible and overheard by customers dining in. It created a very uncomfortable environment that I hope is addressed.

It all started when we walked into the restaurant and waited nearly 10 minutes to get seated. The place is basically run by one waitress, one sushi chef, and one cook. All of which are keeping up with nearly 12 tables. It took her nearly 10 more minutes to give us the menus and even more to actually take our order.

The food was very good! The only complaint I have is that I specifically requested vegetarian gyoza, and explained that I have dietary restrictions where I cannot consume pork. The receptionist assured me that I swap out the pork with vegetables or shrimp, I opted for the vegetables. I picked up my food and returned to my office to find that the dumpling was indeed filled with pork. I should have called but my lunch break is short and I did not have much time.

Friendly service staff as the owner/chef works behind the counter. My wife and sister-in-law enjoy their Beef Bulgogi dinners. The stuff jalapeños peppers were so so. Nothing special about the side salad, the miso soup was salty! The Sashimi Dinner was decent, the chef corks have added shredded carrots to make the dish more appealing (see photo). Overall, it's a solid sushi place for us who overnight in the city.

I stopped for dinner on my way through town and was very pleased with my decision to stop at this location. My waitress and the chef were very nice and quick with service. The food was excellent, many good looking choices on the menu at reasonable prices. I got the Lava Crunch Roll, Philadelphia Roll and Salmon Sashimi. The Lava Crunch especially is one of the most unique and best rolls I've ever tried.

Nice build-out, friendly service, and very fresh sushi. The crunch roll is a must-try. There is no seaweed wrap or rice in it so if you're carb conscious, it's even better. Really, regardless of the carbs, it is one of the better rolls/dishes I tried there and I tried seven or eight dishes. Make no mistake, all we're good. The calamari salad was also a nice stand-out.

So this review is mainly based on service. Me and my friend got here at 1pm (1251 to be exact), for what we thought would be a quick lunch date. We were seated and the waitress took our drink order. We then asked her to give us a little bit of time so we could select something from the menu. A little bit of time to her meant coming back almost 20 minutes later to finally take our order. So we both ordered bento boxes. I had fried rice and my friend had white rice. Didn't think it would take that long to make, as bento boxes just consist of your choice meat, California rolls, salad and rice. Really all pre-made items! However we didn't get served till almost 2pm! We literally waited almost a whole hour for food! First of all, the restaurant was not even crowded. Second, it's not like we ordered these extravagant meals that took a while to prepare! We literally ordered basic bento boxes. We were both so annoyed at the point our food finally came out ! Then, our waitress got our rice orders mixed up, didn't put teriyaki sauce on my friends beef teriyaki and literally dowsed my (what I'm assuming is Tyson chicken) with sauce. Plus for food that took so long to make, it was on the cold side. The only reason why I am giving the review 3 stars and not 2 is because 1. The food was not bad, although basic, it didn't taste horrible. 2. My waitress was the only one serving people in the restaurant so she was probably just overwhelmed with orders. Plus she did make sure to constantly refill our drinks whenever we were low. But overall, I would not come here again. Bento boxes are kind of a staple at most Japanese restaurants so there is really no reason to come here for one. Plus the presentation was kind of sloppy. And there is still no justification for the extremely long wait time we experienced.
