The taco salad with chicken was very small. The lettuce was wet leaving water in the bottom of the shell. The chicken was tasteless. Would not go here again. There are many fine Mexican restaurants in town to bother with this one.

The food here is good, but I was NOT a fan of the margaritas.

Probably the worst food, Mexican or otherwise, that I have eaten. Also, fruit flys or nats flying around our table and it was sub zero outside the prior week. Ate there many years ago and it was decent. Not this time.

Nice atmosphere, our waiter Carlos was very jovial and attentive and even fixed our wobbly table when he saw it was moving. We were a table of 5, and between placing our order and the time it came out to us was between 5-10 minutes. Incredibly fast but maybe somewhat reflected in the quality of the food I had. Somewhat bland, didn't pick up on any major spices or flavors that stuck out: I had a wet Burrito with ground beef and queso and enchilada sauce on top. Filled me up, wasn't bad but I'm not gushing over it either. I'll come back another time and try something else

Food was great, waiter was responsive. Standing water in both bathrooms. Bill had a pop added, when we both had waters.

I wanted a frozen margarita. But just like McDonald's the machine wasn't working! My server took my order and never came back! My peach margarita was not even a margarita it was peach water! Why did I order food? If they couldn't even make a darn margarita. You lost me as a customer!!!!
I will never go back!!!!

If I could give them a negative score I certainly would. They’ve earned it.

We recently moved to Toledo and are searching for an authentic Mexican restaurant. We’ve been to Palacio Maya, 5 times. Overall the food is mediocre, the menus need a thorough wipe down, which makes me wonder about the kitchen and the guacamole made at your table is inconsistent. The amount of ingredients and even how thoroughly the ingredients are mixed into the guacamole depends on the server who’s preparing it.

During about half of your dinners at the Palacio Maya we’ve had a waiter who is abrupt and borderline rude. Last night we went in for dinner with a coupon we received in the mail that afternoon. Unfortunately, we had the same rude server. When I asked him about the special on the coupon he said, “no coupons”. I showed him the coupon and he looked reluctant to write down the order. He paused for about 10 seconds before writing my order down. When the bill came he did not billed us the reduced price. When I called his to his attention. He rolled his eyes and without explanation just left the table. He approached the manager and got another bill for the same price?? When he returned to the table I pointed out that the price still hadn’t been adjusted. Once again he went back to the manger for another bill. When he came back to our table he was smiling and held the bill uncomfortably close to my face while smiling. I waved his hand with our bill away from my face. I asked him if many customers use their coupons. His response was, “no speak English”. I happen to be Hispanic and speak Spanish. I asked him in Spanish to talk with me about the bill. He walked away. My husband and myself were livid that he approached me in such a sarcastic and aggressive way, over $3.00. When cashing out and recapping the whole situation with the manager he initially laughed when I told him how close he had held the bill to my face. When I said no, this is not funny. He quickly stopped laughing and said repeatedly that he’d talk to the server.

Needless to say, we will never go back to that restaurant even though it’s in close proximity to our house. I would recommend if your food is not appropriately prepared or if you’re ever abruptly, or aggressively treated at Palacio Maya to immediately call the manager over to your table. Wish we would have.

Do yourself a favor, go to Cinco de Mayo in Holland or San Marcos for an authentic Mexican meal with friendly Waitstaff.

This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in Toledo. The prices are low yet the quality is very high. We've tried them all and we keep coming back to this one. It's our go to place when we can't agree on where to eat.

We were looking for a place to eat, and happened to drive past Palacio Maya Mexican Restaurant. We decided to try it, and we were not disappointed. The selection of food items for vegetarians was amazing with plenty of items to choose from. The staff were quick, efficient and friendly. We would definitely eat here again.

Vegetarian options: There are plenty of vegetarian items to choose from in a separate section of the menu. The beans do not have lard in them, which is also a plus.

Don't go, unless you don't find food available elsewhere.
All!! All the dishes taste the same, same seasoning and it is not good.
The waiters serve you what they want and they want to force you to eat what they serve you even if it is not what was requested.
They charge you the tip without consulting and throw you the change..
They never have desserts

In my opinion, this is just a typical Mexican restaurant ordered the stuffed jalapeños that were typical frozen jalapeño poppers overcooked no sauce had to ask for ranch and my entrée was very bland. Not much taste of the sauce rice and beans were bland. Patron. Margarita was OK, but it was $18! Probably won’t come here again with all the options in the city!
