Excellent food and a lot of it. Well worth the trip into town. Great service, liked that we weren't rushed and could enjoy our dinner.

Best BBQ in toledo. Fish tacos are excellent. I get Memphis egg rolls everytime. Brisket sliders are my favorite meal. Great staff

Came from metro Detroit because the beef ribs have always been great… went today 10/4/25 and the fruit flys and gnats were horrible inside the establishment … my beer was a swimming pool for them and by the time we got our food I quickly asked for boxes to leave… I understand a fly or two here and there but hundreds today… the couple behind us also noticed and had said how many there was… hopefully the issue can be fixed but won’t be ba k for a while due to that

The best chili around

Called to see about getting a party of 8-10 and was told the gratuity would be added in (which we knew & understood). Told we wouldn’t be seated until everyone was there. Asked if it would be separate bills. It felt like we were not wanted there for our celebration. Very disappointed.

We had a funeral luncheon at Shorty's. The manager was very helpful in making the arrangements. We had special requests which were handled expertly. The wait staff was attentive and followed up with the guests to make sure that they had what they wanted. The staff took our worries away as we did not know how many people would come and we were told that they would cook more if we needed it. They packed up leftovers and gave us everything that was left over. We wanted special music and they allowed one of our guests to bring in a speaker and hook it up. We were also allowed to stay beyond the scheduled hours and we appreciated that also.

Gnats. SOO many gnats. It made our visit unbearable. Very disappointed. The staff was aware of the problem. We ended up moving tables and still had a problem.

Had to go get my own silverware, server forgot my milkshake at the pickup line so it was melted by the time I got it, a food runner, who was more attentive than the server, had to remind the server to bring us stuff and the cornbread. Was told it was not her first day and we were her only table. Food was amazing, atmosphere was nice, no wait time.
