My family and I have been going to Sakai for the 10 years we’ve lived in Troy and have always had incredible food and service. We’ve tried other sushi places in the surrounding areas and we always come back to Sakai. We probably go once a month and the staff is always kind and a few of the regulars remember us and stop to catch up! I highly encourage all to give it a try.
I was very surprised at how fresh and tasty this sushi was in the middle of Ohio. You can tell that the chefs are trained and know what they are doing. Delicious! A highlight from my visit to Troy. Thank you!
I visited Sakai in Troy, OH on Sunday evening, about an hour before closing, craving sashimi. I ordered the Yellowtail Serrano, the sashimi dinner plate, and a hot sake. The sake was decent, but the miso soup that came with the dinner was lukewarm. The yellowtail appetizer tasted noticeably fishy—after two bites I left it untouched, which made me nervous about the main plate.
