Met up with my for lunch at Van Aken and wanted to try this place! We split the Kentucky Fried Chicken and BBQ Pork Belly. The Yum Yum sauce is served on top and was only a little spicy, and both bowls were delicious and flavorful. There is seating but we took it to go to sit inside the main Van Aken building because there's more space and we don't prefer high top chairs. Air quality was good for the brief time we were inside.

This place had good reviews so I tried it. The place is nice asian food is my favorite but this place has some great flavor. The pictures don't do it justice. My wife ordered the fish and I got the chicken. The food was delicious the portions were cool I ate all my food my wife had leftovers. I definitely recommend eating here and I will again soon. Looking forward to trying more of the dishes.
If you’re hungry, this will fill you. Huge rice portion weighed a good 2-3 lbs. steak was OK. The yum yum sauce is a lazy made sauce that smelled like eggs. The flavor of the steak bowl was not great and I ate it just to fill up. It’s very expensive for low-effort good. Going to Mitchell’s to next clean my palette.

Wow!? When the first name of your eatery is RICE - that should be the highlight of all you do. I decided to try BBQ Pork Belly - the BBQ Sauce was absent and the rice was a clump of starch! An actual CHEF would’ve immediately known to use it for RICE PUDDING and invest in a RICE COOKER? The two gents were GenX laid back cordial but are obviously place holders for the brain-trust of the brand. How can you serve clumpy rice and fried pork belly with yum yum sauce as a substitute for actual properly cooked RICE & REAL BBQ’ed PORK BELLY?!?? I’m upset that they are feeding the unknowing public masquerading as a popular TIKTOK dish.

Good portions for sharing! Nice fast casual rice and protein shop. The fish is my go to dish. Always light, crispy, tender and flaky. Mitchell's across the street for desert. The ride shop is a needed addition to Van Aken District .

I’ve never had a bad meal at Rice Shop and have been there many times. However, I want to give kudos to the team that worked last night because the food was next level! I always get the same thing, fish, but whatever they did to it this time made it better than ever before. Perfect ratios and flavor. Great service too! Keep those folks around. Chef’s kiss!
