Samosky's Homestyle Pizzeria ( Valley City, OH )

A dear friend gave us a gift card for Samosky's Pizza.
We made the 30 minute drive to Valley City & it was well worth it!!
The pizza we ordered was absolutely delicious & the toppings were plentiful!!
We have a neighborhood favorite but it's been replaced by Samosky's!!

We did carry out pizza. Don't know about atmosphere. Not much sausage on our medium pizza. Had a small Philly steak and cheese, that was ok. Had a small caprese, I didn't care for, my wife ordered it. I liked the fact they didn't charge 3% for debit transaction.

The pizza and food was great! We had our rehearsal dinner here June 2025. The staff was so kind and did a great job! Chris was wonderful to work with and made the process easy! We had a big party and knew ahead of time that we would be in a smaller space. Chris warned us; however, he was more than willing to accommodate and make it work. Everyone had such a great time that I wish they would have a bigger space because it was wonderful! He made the process easy and the food was great! We would love to go back there soon and eat!

Drove an hour to get here. Best calzone ever...

We stopped in and ordered 2 pizzas for take out. We ordered a large pepperoni and a large Philly cheese steak pizza. Im from Philly so I know cheese steaks and this pizza was a good reminder of home. It came with mushrooms, onions, and the cheese steak meat. Everyone loved it. Id recommend trying it out of your in the area!

Went for dinner tonight and it was delicious! Our service was terrific, the restaurant/patio were clean, and we enjoyed our entire experience. Will be back again soon!

This restaurant is one of those places where the best thing about it is very clearly the food. The food is genuinely very good, and what really stands out is how fresh and homemade everything tastes. It does not feel like a place that is just reheating pre made items or assembling something from a kit. The flavors taste real, the ingredients taste fresh, and you can tell there is actual cooking happening in the kitchen. If you are someone who cares most about what is on the plate, this place delivers and it is the reason we keep coming back.

The service is pretty good overall, but they definitely get busy, and you feel it when they are packed. The staff is generally friendly and doing their best, but on a busy night it can take a while to get a refill or place a secondary order, especially if you are sitting outside. I do like their patio, and it is a nice place to eat in the summer, but we have had times where we waited longer than we should have just to refresh a drink or add something else.

The atmosphere inside is a bit odd, though. The main dining room is very plain, with simple tables and chairs arranged in a big rectangle. It honestly reminds me of eating in a union hall or a basic community room. They could absolutely upgrade the tables and chairs to make it feel warmer and more comfortable. At the same time, I get the impression they believe people are not coming for the atmosphere, they are coming for the food. And honestly, that might be true, because the food is good enough to carry the experience.

One other quirky thing is Monday nights in the summer when they have a cruise in. It is a fun idea, but there are some strange rules about ordering small items from the counter. I once tried to buy a soda and was told they could not sell it to me, even though I was willing to pay, and then it seemed like they did anyway. It was confusing and felt unnecessary.

Overall, this is a place I recommend for the food first and foremost. If they improve the dining room setup and tighten up service during the busiest times, it would be even better.

Second time here and I know this is going to be a new favorite place. The Philly cheesesteak pizza is so good. The salads are very fresh with great quality greens. The desserts are fabulous. I saw some onion rings get delivered to another table and they were huge and looked so good so I gotta try those next time. Many things on the menu looked delicious so I will have to keep coming back! So happy to have found this place.

Just moved from Ashland county , 6 months ago to the area, the specialty pizzas so far are best we've eaten anywhere ever.. Great staff. Anthony is always extra friendly and helpful, im glad we live 7 minutes away.. AMAZING
