Huston restaurant

Per their website they have permanently closed and will be re-opening under a new concept. This is sad that another long time, family owned business has closed.

The service was great, but the food was just ok. The restaurant need a real good cleaning and update. The celing tiles are old and dirty.

This is a nice restaurant with a wide array of food choices. It is located in the county on SR 42, between Mason, Ohio and Lebanon, Ohio. It is reminiscent of dining as it was in days gone by .time, almost like taking a trip back in time about 25 or 30 years. It features a 50 plus item salad bar, and a variety of entrees from steaks, fried chicken, pork chops, fish, etc. and side items as unique as frog legs. It also offers beer and bar drinks/cocktails, Not fancy by any means, but good food and a nice atmosphere. No need to dress up. Casual wear is just fine.

We had only went once, so decided to try it again with a relative in town. We were disappointed and would rate the food a 3 out of 10. The salad bar was ok, it did have some selections but the meals were just not that good. My meat was tough and it was a special of the day. Won't be going back.

Nice birthday dinner- fried chicken and the wonderful salad bar. Not fancy, but very good .we try to go a few times a year.

They have an excellent salad bar and goodness home cooked food! Have been there many times and always enjoyed it!

We have been going to the Houston Inn since I was a child. We went to celebrate my 66th birthday this year. Very disappointed, the salad bar is not what it used to be just 5 years ago. The dinner rolls were just warmed slider buns. They no longer offer Oysters on the seafood platter ( husband was very disappointed) Can't say that I would choose them again.

We really love their salad bar, atmosphere and Connie. Once you get done gorging yourself at the salad bar, dinner is served. Oy. We go there for the prime rib and liver and it is great. Ok, why did I mention Connie? Well because she really makes our dining experience fun.

Have always heard rave reviews of this place for years but myself had never been but had the chance to visit this week. Prices were fair. Food was fair nothing overly impressive and non of the 8 people in our party were wowed. Steaks were over cooked even ordering per their recommendation of nothing over medium. Salad bar had lots of choices however nothing was labeled so wasn’t sure on many things. Dinner bread tasted like warmed store bought. Food sides were almost cafeteria like perfectly round scoops not giving the impression of freshly made. But everything was decent and a good crowd at dinner time. Wouldn’t be on my list of rave reviews like I’ve heard.
