We came on a Friday it was rather dead 2 other tables in the entire dining area waitress was extremely rude when anyone asked her to anything (refills, sauce, ect) rolled her eyes or huffed and we were lucky if she did the task at all even after several requests my brothers steak was 90% fat and had no sear at all. My sisters and said brothers girlfriends noodles tasted like plastic and my other brothers mashed potatoes were almost all sour cream all of which is extremely disappointing for the expensive price and it was all together a horrible experience would rather leave to eat and come back after at this point i would understand if she was busy but she wasn’t and was standing around talking the majority of the time or checking on her device extremely disappointing as we enjoy going to the lodge honestly we could have gone to Portsmouth ate and got back before our food had even been delivered and had all obviously been ready for a while because it was all lukewarm

An absolute delight! I visited on my birthday last week and it could hardly have been more perfect. Lots of good menu items but my friend and I chose liver and onions. Truly, truly the best I have ever had anywhere. Service was superb.
This is a great place for going alone, dining with friends/groups or special occasions. Nearby hiking trails abound but you may want to do what I did---just sit, linger, and enjoy the ambiance.

The two stars are for our wonderful servers who tried to entertain and be attentive to us in these dark (quite literally in regards to those chicken ‘tenders’) times.
The food here was a -5/5.
The worst meal my family of 8 has ever had in our entire lives!
Drinks came quick, alcohol was good (bar gets a 5 Star), and there was zero flavor outside of garlic between 10 plates.
The nachos were okay— like a middle school concession stand, lukewarm cheese and onion seemingly chopped by a disgruntled teen.
There was a nacho in my sister’s fries.
The chicken tenders were akin to ashes.
That pizza(s) were an insult to chef boyardee. One was doughy, the other my brother’s gf couldn’t chew with her braces.
The potato’s were good. 90% garlic and potato skin but at least we had flavor somewhere.
Then you had my steak. Which tastes like shoe leather, depression, and made me dang near lose my will to live. Especially with that heap of peas nobody asked for! (:
I ask for medium… it came out dry as a desert. Send the kitchen help!
Not good for food but great for a laugh! Thanks again to our servers! Definitely stopping through a drive-thru on our way home tho.

Smokehouse is the wrong name for this restaurant. No smoked meats on the menu. Service was slow and the food was just okay, not great.

This was genuinely one of the worst experiences I've ever had in a restaurant. Came in with a party of about ten. The restaurant barely had anyone in it, so I know it was not a case of the kitchen being overwhelmed. About ten minutes after we ordered, our waitress came back and told us they were out of prime rib. Which, fine, happens. Ordered something else and proceeded to wait for nearly forty-five minutes. Half the party was served their orders after about half an hour, while the rest of us sat with the bread (didn't even bring salads out). When our food did finally arrive, my order had the wrong sides, every piece of meat that had been ordered was overcooked to the consistency of shoe leather, and we were only provided butter knives to cut with. The (wrong) sides that came with my meal were almost inedible...the garlic mashed potatoes were like biting into raw garlic and the salad dressing was genuinely awful. To finish out, I had to pay decent steakhouse prices for chain hotel buffet quality. This place is absolutely not worth the price.

Not a quality restaurant. You can tell the food is all made by short order cooks. No chefs here. The food is bland and doesn't look good enough for the price. Which has gone up quite a bit over the last year. We attended a holiday buffet last year and it was stale and cold. Over priced for what you get. I take the 20 minutes and go to Portsmouth for better quality.

If you want to throw away money this will be the place to eat. Showed up on a Saturday expecting it to be packed, very little customers and after our visit I know why. The staff was amazing great atmosphere the food was horrible. The overpriced ribeye was over cooked, when brought to the chef attention he needed to see, meaning he didn’t believe the customer. Food was replaced but the potato was burnt the Mac and cheese was overcooked and the brisket was awful. I will not be going back here.
My husband and I stayed at the lodge for his birthday weekend and we went to dinner on his birthday night and we were blown away by the experience! The food was delicious, the cocktails were amazing, and the live music was absolutely incredible! I told our waitress, Haley, that it was my husband's birthday and she went above and beyond. She was so thoughtful and her service was amazing. She even gave him a card and wrote 'Happy Birthday' on a plate to go with his free caramel cheesecake, it was so sweet! The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated with an even more beautiful view! We will definitely dine here again next time we stay at the lodge! Thanks Haley! :)

Shawnee is a beautiful lodge and area to visit. The best pizza in their restaurant and bar. I am very disappointed that they charge you to watch your children swim if you go out for the day. We paid $13.25 for each child to swim and then I had to pay the same just to watch them. But they make you if under 18 l, so why make us pay?. So I didn’t want to pay for my husband and 18 year old son to just watch them swim so they had to wait upstairs. 13.25 is too expensive anyways. We were going to eat dinner there too that evening so it’s not like they weren’t getting plenty of our money and we bought from the gift shop. Very disappointed in this policy. Also, they need more insulation between rooms as you can hear the tv from the other rooms sometimes but nice rooms. Other than that it’s very nice. Beautiful lodge. They also give discounts for grades on rooms so I appreciate that.
Can't say enough about a Thursday night right as spring rolls out...delightul! From the fresh-baked bread to Jay's Beef and Noodles and my pork chop with apple caramel sauce, all was delish!

I needed a part time side job and my daughter was looking to get out of Fast food.So we went there for an interview and got hired upon hiring. We were told we were need an ASAP and that they would rather as not put in two Notices for our other jobs Because they needed us RIGHT NOW. We left our other jobs thinking that they were desperate for our help when we could have put in a 2 week notice.Or even stayed at our jobs. But instead we went to the lodge thinking we'd get plenty of hours and we were scheduled barely any at all But instead we went to the lodge thinking we'd get plenty of hours and we were scheduled barely any at all. I'm talking like. Not even six hours a week. When they finally put you on the schedule. It's one day so who really wants to work one day and wait two weeks to get about fifty six dollars. Why would you have somebody quit their paying jobs? That had better benefits. you need us a s a p. and then not give us hours at all? And keep posting you need help?
Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here! The atmosphere is quaint and relaxing and we were treated with live music, which set the tone beautifully! The rolls were excellent and the Sasquatch pretzel was great as well! I had a traditional Ohio dish of beef and noodles and it felt like home! Will be back again on return visits!

Beautifully decorated for Christmas. Food was delicious, especially the fresh baked bread! The service was great! The manager playing Christmas songs on the piano was a lovely bonus!
