Stopped in for a quick lunch today and lucked out—half-off ribs was on deck, so you know I had to jump on that. 🍖 Ribs – 7.8/10 Fall-off-the-bone tender with a flavorful sauce that hit the spot. Not fancy, just solid and satisfying BBQ at a great deal. 🍟 Fries – A mountain. Literally. They gave me what felt like 4 pounds of crispy golden fries—no complaints there. 🍅 Ketchup – Unexpected MVP Not sure if it's house-made or some secret blend, but the ketchup was different... and honestly? Delicious. It added something extra to every bite. Whether you’re out for a laid-back meal or a quick bite on a deal day, Moosehead Tavern delivers. We've been coming to the Moosehead for many, many years. Very sad to find out that the gyro has been taken off the menu!
What we ate was good, but had our hearts (and taste buds) set!
On a high note, Marissa was outstanding!!

Disappointing Experience – This Place Has Changed

This spot used to be a gem, but unfortunately, our recent visit on a Friday afternoon/early evening was incredibly disappointing. We sat at the bar for a drink and appetizer, and were met with an extremely rude bartender—not just to us, but shockingly, to the servers as well. It was uncomfortable to witness and completely unprofessional.

She clearly had a major chip on her shoulder, and despite our efforts to be patient and give her the benefit of the doubt, it became unbearable. I’ve worked as a bartender myself for over 16 years in much busier environments, and I would never treat guests or coworkers the way she did. There’s a certain level of composure and respect that comes with working in hospitality—and if you can’t manage that, you shouldn’t be in the role.

This is supposed to be an upscale establishment in a great area, and we expected better. Her attitude soured the entire experience, which is truly unfortunate because this used to be one of our favorite spots.

I genuinely hope management addresses this issue seriously. Sometimes the right move is letting someone go, especially if they’re actively damaging the atmosphere and reputation of the business. One toxic employee can ruin the entire experience for guests and staff alike.

I don't write many reviews like this but that's how bad it was, unfortunately. It doesn't take much to be kind and maintain your composure. Especially in the world we're living in today.

I hope they make a change for the better.

The service has gone downhill in the last month. Do not waste your time eating there. We saw that the server was inattentive and slow. We gave her grace. Afterall, we are there to enjoy great company not eat insanely quick. She ignored our last drink order. Then we asked about our food. She said that we never ordered food. I said yes we did. Then she looked at her notepad. Then she asked us why didn't we remind her...... it's not my job to do her job. The bill was still $76 with just drinks. Nothing comped for her incompetence. We won't be going back. I refuse to be rude to get service. Service should be a given. We luckily were able to still order food at a different restaurant and food was ready for us when we got there.

The perch fish fry is incredible.
Cooked to perfection and several filets are served.

My husband and I, along with our daughter at here last night and the food was so delicious. We all got the French Onion Steak sandwich with the french onion soup. It was by far the best french dip sandwich we've ever had. The drinks were delicious too. The staff was friendly.
