One of my favorite restaurants those corner booths are comfortable and private or you can sit at the bar or hibachi to be social.Parking: Easy parking not like crocker park

Me and My boyfriend went here last night. We are originally from the lorain area and we drove to westlake to try out this place and we weren't disappointed. The server we had was amazing the hibachi grill cook was amazing. Food was also amazing it was definitely worth the money and definitely worth the drive. Most definitely will go back.

Ugh! A ton of money for horrible service. I feel bad for the hibachi chefs. Our chef was fantastic, our server (Blake) the worst I've had in a long time! My husband's beer came half way through dinner. My Imperial Flight also waiting only to find out they were out. Changed to the Samurai Flight took an additional 15 minutes. Meal completely served... no white rice received for my daughter yet either at this point. We're seriously in a Japanese restaurant. I'm sure white rice is absolutely readily available. My daughter is almost in tears as we're finishing up our meals and she has just a couple pieces of chicken on her plate. This child wanted to try eating with chopsticks... guess what... everyone else is done with our meals and still didn't receive any chopsticks that we asked for. Finally asked another server and he immediately pulled them out of his apron saying every server should have some in their apron. Blake could tell I was getting angry 30 minutes into our meal with no beer or sake flights or white rice. Thought well... when we get our bill maybe he'll try to compensate in some way. Nope! $172 and what an effort it was to even get served. Thursday night, not crazy busy just a horrible server who I'm sure will bitch he got a bad tip but honestly he shouldn't have received what he even got. I would definitely go back as the food was great but stay clear of Blake... he's not interested in serving you but he loves looking busy. But our check and boxes came lightening speed. ( 4 boxes but no bag given! Icing on the cake!)

We did not do the hibachi dinner. We just came for sushi and we were not disappointed at all. We were seated almost immediately and the waiter was very friendly. The drink selection was great. They have alcoholic beverages from around the world, not just Japan. I do, however, recommend trying the Kirin Ichiban beer. I lived in Japan several years and it brought me back to my days there. The sushi was great and had a perfect presentation.

First off, I love shinto. Been going for years to both locations. This experience however was my first really bad one. Walking to our table someone was sweeping up chunks of glass and swept so hard it hit my foot. Was I hurt, no, but could my 4 year old following me have slipped on it if we were 2 steps farther, absolutely. I told our waiter that I didn't want vegetables and only wanted mushrooms and he said just tell the chef. Why wouldn't you tell him so he could bring out the right portions of things?! All the other times, this meant they would throw me a couple extra mushrooms. Since the chef wasn't told prior to coming to the table, he did not. On this occasion, I guess this wasn't really a bad thing since the mushrooms were only about halfway cooked. Everything was barely seasoned. Sake shooting was 2 seconds tops (usually they shoot until you tell them to stop). My son asked him several time for more fake sake shooting but to no avail. Only option he gave us to catch food in our mouths was a vegetable that i dont eat. I finally saw my waiter 5 minutes after our food was done and got him to bring out the white rice for the table. Thankfully this was hot since other rest of our food was now cold. No drink refills. Just overall the worst experience I've ever had at shinto.

Booked a party of 12 that was split up into 2 separate hibachi tables. We asked to move to a full table of 12 that had two separate parties on it and they refused. They subsequently rushed our meal, feeding up brocoli instead of shrimp for the entertainment portion, and dropped our boxes off as soon as we got our dinner. It was rude and unprofessional. All of this could have been avoided by either moving us or telling us that we would be split instead of agreeing to a full booking. For a $400 tab would expect better service. Go to the Strongsville one instead!

This was the worst waste of money I have ever had the misfortune of being a part of! We went there for my son's birthday with a party of 12. It started badly when they spread us across 2 tables.....should have told us that when the reservation was made. It went downhill from there. We were obviously being rushed out as the waiter literally was trying to sell us dessert the very moment our meals were placed in front of us. The service was TERRIBLE and the food was even WORSE. The management team has clearly decided it's a good idea to cut back on the quality of the ingredients. Fried rice used to actually have vegetables in it... now ....it's just white rice covered in soy sauce. Remember when part of the show was having the cook toss pieces of shrimp to see who could catch it? Now....raw broccoli! Ever been hit in the face with a piece of raw broccoli? Yeah...that's fun....not. This was not worth $40 and certainly a travesty at $400! I would never recommend SHINTO to anyone for ANY reason. We have been going to the Strongsville location for 20 years. The Westlake location is GARBAGE....and getting worse all the time. Check out the food safety and cleanliness reviews: Not spectacular...actually, not even good. You can only cut back so far before you can't hide the stink. DON'T go there! We won't be going back. Try Arashi instead...it's only 5 minutes up the road and they actually seem to care that people are coming!
