Family wanted to celebrate my son's 16th birthday in style. Made a reservation, which was straightforward. No wait for a table on a Friday night. Our server, Izzy, was fantastic. Treated us well and my son like royalty. Ambiance was great. Two ederly women seated near us must have heard and gifted him $15 on their way out. Thoughtful. Food was great from the spinach dip, to the burgers, wraps, chicken, and pizza, we were all over the place. We had traveled there from Medina County almost an hour away as our adult son lives nearby. On our way out, we met the lead/head Chef, Kevin, who was made aware of our celebration and distance traveled. He congratulated my 16 year old son on his birthday and thanked us for traveling so far to dine at their establishment. Overall, it was a wonderful evening and we greatly enjoyed the food, service, and ambiance even on the prototypical weekend night. Well done to the staff here and we'll be returning soon.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The restaurant was really good, but like anywhere, there were a few flaws. I’m a firm believer that if you seek perfection you’ll often be disappointed—but a good waitress can truly make or break an experience, and ours (Izzie) absolutely made it phenomenal.
We ordered the Clam Bake, Pizza, Wings, and a Burger. The crackers for the clam bake were stale, the burger came out a little burnt (though still tasty), and the blue cheese dressing looked odd—as if it had curdled or separated. The steak was also cooked incorrectly at first (well done instead of the medium rare my wife requested).
That said, the staff handled everything with professionalism. They immediately offered to fix the crackers, explained it was the end of a box, and brought out fresh ones without hesitation. I appreciated that they even tasted them themselves to check. The steak issue was also resolved quickly—the chef remade it perfectly once the mix-up was realized. Mistakes happen, but how a place fixes them says everything, and here they did an excellent job.
The beer prices were very fair—$6 for a tall craft beer, which is phenomenal compared to most places. We ended with a brownie that was out of this world! Between the food, the attentive service from Izzie, and sitting by the open window overlooking the vintage Willoughby street scene, my wife, baby, and I had a great time.
Do yourself a favor and see if Izzie is working—she’s a phenomenal waitress who will make sure everything is taken care of and address any issues with kindness and efficiency.
If I had one suggestion, it would be to update the Happy Hour menu. Right now, it feels a bit stale. For example, the cheeseburger is $8, but it doesn’t come with fries, so it felt more like an à la carte option rather than a true deal (especially since the burger with fries is normally $14). Also, there weren’t any Happy Hour drink specials, which felt unusual.
All that being said, we left very happy and will definitely return. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the service was top-notch, and the food (especially once corrected) was very enjoyable. Still 5 stars from me! Right, so can you stop

We came here to celebrate our anniversary, and it couldn’t have been a better choice. 💕 The food was absolutely amazing, but the real star of the night was our waitress, Izzy. Thank you!
Food is good, beer selection intriguing, friendly and patient staff
Amazing food and service. They were training a new server today and you could tell the veteran staff was instilling quality service in them. Love it!
My friend and I just walk into this establishment on Good Friday. This bartender with dark hair in her 50s and I would guess with fake breast was so rude to my friend about leaving a open tab. I told him lets just drink our beers and go somewhere else. I would admit we both had few drinks before coming to this establishment and if she said I don't feel comfortable serving you guys. We would left peaceful and thank her for being a responsible bartender. I tend to give respect 10 folds back when given respect because I have work jobs in the food and bar service industry
Really nice place to mingle with good food and prices. 😆

Good food and great quick service as always!
Those photos from 2 years ago are no longer accurate. The service was great, but the food was just gross. What happened?

I went to balentines last night with my friends from out of town. I’ve been there so many times and had an okay time. Last night i tried to get in but the little older man working door had some issues. He touched my friends butt, and was extremely vulgar with her. The food was mid. Bathrooms are disgustingly dirty. I’ll be nice and say the food is mid. Next time just go next door to 1899 much better vibes overall. I wouldn’t even waste time going in.
We have been regulars at Ballentine in Downtown Willoughby for years now and we absolutely love it. The lemon drop martini with the sugar rum is my go-to drink and it never disappoints. The atmosphere is perfect for a night out and the service is always top-notch. We can't recommend it enough! 5 stars all around.
