“I was surprised that Ballantine did not have a better star rating. We are passing through. Most well rated Willoughby restaurants were very full. Ballantine is a large place, lots of wood, with some crannies, one being in the back with a mantle and gas lighted fireplace. In live music before it switches to current sports. Special dinner: Clams which were very fresh, clam chowder with fresh vegetables, and a huge hamburger with greens. All good. Staff people were super friendly and helpful. A beautiful lighted outdoors with floor to ceiling glass. Couldn't have been any better. Thank you, Ballantine.”

“Very pleased with cuisine. There were twelve of us and everyone enjoyed their lunch. The food was different from what we're used to eating because this is Latin American cuisine. Most of us had plantains and all were cooked differently but extremely tasty. I had the Sancocho as an entrée with Black Bean Soup as an appetizer...both very delicious. Nat, the waitress, was extremely attentive. Can't wait till we go back.”

“I ordered two cheese sheet pizzas for end of the year pizza party for two kindergarten classes! The delivery was on time and the pizza was excellent. Many of the kids liked it and asked where it was from! I will also note that the delivery arrived at 11, which is when the business opens, so I appreciate them making the pizza before opening and getting it to the school at our early lunch time. I will definitely order from here again!”

The miso soup was the best I have ever had (coming from someone who has it often). I had the Fire Ball Sushi Roll, and it had so much flavor. 10/10 experience. “What an absolutely amazing night and experience with The Yard on 3rd! Our family rented out the inside area during the off season for our “Winter Blues 2024” party. Katie was our coordinator, hostess and bartender…. And MAN…. She rocked every aspect of her role! I originally inquired via FB messenger and her response time was within 5 mins! We had every detail planned for a party of about 40 people, within a few minutes (seriously) and she offered any additional support /questions we may have needed with her contact info! On the date of the event ( JANUARY) we were greeted kindly and she presented nothing but professionalism and completely executed the manager/bartender role perfectly! Our guests were impressed ( even though we’ve frequented this establishment in the past and expected nothing less!!) The entire party was so smooth, tailored to our liking and we HIGHLY recommend Katie and The Yard on 3rd!!! The only regret was not renting it out for longer because we were having such an amazing time!!!! Well done—- and THANK YOU!!! “I love Arabica coffeehouse. It’s a really friendly environment in historic downtown Willoughby. The owners Tim and Tina Are both very nice and welcoming and their staff is friendly. I love the huge selection of teas that they have to choose from. This is where I go when I just don’t want to be home by myself. Love to come here read or work a little and people watch. There is always someone friendly to talk to. I’ve made lots of friends here over the years.”

“Just what downtown Willoughby needed! Such a cute and cozy pizza place/Italian restaurant serving up the classics done simply and done well. We ordered the Salad Bowl and it was a meal in itself. I really appreciated the lettuce- no iceberg here, just crisp mixed greens and lots of Italian cold cuts, cheese, egg and olives. Ordered a small pizza with sausage, onion and banana peppers and it was delicious. They use the crumbly sausage, which again, I totally appreciate. I can tell quality ingredients are used here and it makes such a difference. The staff were great! A really pleasant and welcoming group of young people. Nice job! We will be back soon!”

“Visiting from Canada, this is our first stop and special request for my son's 13th birthday. Immediately as you walk in, you're greeted with a welcome by all of the staff and smiling faces. The ladies behind the counter were very helpful with all of my questions. The food came out quickly and was to die for! We were checked in on at our table by a few different staff members, all of which were very friendly. The restaurant was spotless, the staff were great - 10/10! Wish we had one here in Ontario!”

We wound up staying way longer than the 15 mins we intended to because "Scatterbraind" kept playing songs we couldn't walk out on, and the bartenders made us feel right at home! Prices were great. “If you want a great sub sandwich or great pizza, this is the place to go. Located across from ald's and the fire station on Euclid Ave in Willoughby ohio. If you are from the area, you probably remember "what about Bob's. They had the best sub on the crusty bread. They still do. The only thing I found wrong is that I asked for no hot peppers and they put them on. This just a minor thing because their sub was awesome. It's a small business that could your help so stop by and enjoy their food.”
