Food was good, we had breakfast but the potatoes were a little on the cold side. Great coffee, service was good. Biscuits were delicious.

The bruschetta was good. The Mac and cheese wasn't too great, and they just took what looked like shredded cheddar and thrown in top, it wasn't melted when they brought it out. Also got a surf and turf burger that halfway through I realized wasn't cooked in the middle. It had some kind of strange sour grease aftertaste as well. I sent it back after the waitress came over and I was spreading the burger open with a fork. It was seared on the outside, but basically raw in the middle. And they ran out of ice, because they seem to have one ice machine for the whole restaurant. Still charged over $30. The steak and eggs I had for breakfast earlier was fine though.
The food wasn’t good the sausage taste like meat balls as if they use something else to make it. The sausage gravy taste water down. The Pancakes seems it should bake more because it taste to floury. It sad to see this place ran down. I understand it’s a different single owner.
Vegetarian options: Salads was good and fresh fruits

I went in there for lunch I had decent service excellent food..I went back in there for dinner . 22 minutes I sat there.. while the little young lady helped four other people, that came in between10 to 20 minutes after me.. she looked at me four times never brought me a menu never asked me what I wanted to drink never spoke to me!! When she finally did come over to me she said oh I didn't see you.. after I reminded her she walked within 4 ft of me and looked me directly in the eyes!!!!! So needless to say I didn't spend no money in here.. I will never be back here again.. I will say the $38.00 I spent for lunch was good good food!!!! I got eggs biscuits and gravy plus I got a salad to go and biscuits and gravy to goI have a sneaky suspicion you're going to see another name change very soon!!! With employees like this little young lady working tonight it won't take long to ruin your business..AND THE FACT THAT I'M A TRUCK DRIVER AND I'M GOING TO BADMOUTH THIS PLACE ALL OVER THE COUNTRY ISN'T GOING TO HELP YOU ANY!!!!!!

Old fashion atmosphere which is good, but the place is disgusting. This place needs a MAJOR health inspection. EVERY THING you can think of that is nasty IS NASTY HERE. I pay attention to the nats and fly’s flying everywhere. I seen open food just sitting and worst of all the employees handle the restaurant room key with their bare hands and proceeds to try to serve you like they dint just touch that. Good hospitality nasty place and workers. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. better off going to Walmart and cooking your own food atleast you know how clean you will be

looks like child labor looks like everyone that works there is like 14 My fork Was DIRTY? For some odd reason kings family restaurant was better like one of the kids didn’t even know what something was and for some reason they took us like to the back to get our drinks?. I feel like so much child labor is happening or they just look young don’t recommend.

Was there a month ago, placed this review on sister restaurant review. Realizing the mistake I am correcting the error. By far the worst place I have ever tried to eat at. For the love of God please don't go here. McDonald's is a michelin star restaurant compared to this place. When you tell them about the problems they laugh and say we know it's bad. Then they take your money with a giggle.

This place has had 2 new owners in the last 3 months. It takes a while for a business like this to get the kinks out. I will re-visit after they have time to settle in. Buffet food was lower than average quality. Cottage cheese, fruit and salad was room temperature as was the meatloaf, potatoes, biscuits and sausage gravy. Servers are unattentive. This establishment now goes by the name The Chefs Table.

My husband and I visited out of state and I must say this buffet did not disappoint us at all. The food tasted just like it looked. Delicious! I got the loaded shrimp and crab nachos and the loaded baked potato. My husband got this big bacon burger lol everything was so great and the service was amazing! 10/10

The food was very sub-par and you only get your first drink refill free… (see photos)The biscuits and gravy on the brunch buffet was the best thing and it was actually quite good. The bacon/cheese omelette that my wife ordered however was full of grease, it was as thin or thinner than a tortilla, and the cheese was not melted at all inside. It took 3-5 minutes to get the omelette which was disturbingly fast and the omelette itself was just not very good. The buffet was $13.99 which is not an unreasonable price. The buffet was limited though with it being a brunch buffet. The breakfast portion consisted of Bacon, Eggs, Sausage Patties (I think, but the texture and flavor was “different”) and biscuits with an optional gravy that was very flavorful, but thin. The lunch portion of the buffet included 2 different SALAD options, STUFFED PEPPERS that was very well cooked, but bland in flavor, MEATLOAF that was good, but sweet instead of savory, MASHED POTATOES that seemed to be fresh mashed and had a wonderful texture, however also not very flavorful, and then you could also get fruit which consisted of CANNED PEACHES and CANNED PEARS that tasted sour and slightly fermented, there was also COTTAGE CHEESE available. The decor is the same as with the previous restaurants at this location which are now a bit dated, however it seemed darker than I remember even sitting by a window. The name has actually changed as well, however I cannot remember what it is now called. It was changed to “The Chef’s Table” after being bought by new owners, however the menu as well as the listing here on Google say “Sonny Boy Family Restaurant” still.
Parking: The parking lot has damaged areas so be careful, but there is plenty parking available.

Restaurant was filthy. Food was honestly awful. Had the Sonny Big Boy Breakfast, do not recommend, scrambled eggs tasted off, sausage was dry and had little flavor, biscuits and gravy looked so gross I didn’t even try it. Only good part of the meal was the toast and Coca-Cola. Service was okay but I felt it could’ve been better they took a long time with the food and then informed us they didn’t make one of the entrees so we had to wait even long for that one. Hope they can get some people with experience to take it over other wise it’ll just be another failed business in the area.

1 star for patching the seats from when it was kings. And price isn't to bad. However they need to improve on several things. No need to talk to the manager because all he is worried about is walking around on his phone while carrying a drinking cup through the kitchen and dining room. Very disappointed, nothing impressive about the food, the menu is all over the place. It is what is I guess. Don't eat here unless your starving.Update as of 6/1/23..... Well with all the bad reviews they are officially no longer Sony boys they are changing their name to chef table or something. Still same people and same food. And oh ya cash only for the time being. You've been warned!
