Our food was delicious, prepared and delivered to our table promptly with great service! We loved our server who waited on us in the Tavern at our 6:30 seating. We also want to compliment bartender, Cole, who prepared our beautiful and delicious strawberry rose spritzer- delicious with tasty ingredients. Thanks to our chef and staff at Whitney house, our favorite restaurant.
Our first time at The Whitney House. It was such a great experience! The food was delicious and so fresh and nicely prepared. We will be back! Highly recommend this restaurant.
Great meal and great atmosphere at the Whitney house! We sat in the tavern and loved the casual feel with terrific food! I highly recommend the mushroom gnocchi and pretzel ice cream cake!
Chris was an incredible and accomplishing server! This was my first time at the Whitney House and I was catching up with an old friend. She was attentive but gave us space to chat. The food was outstanding, flavorful and I'll definitely be back!
We dined outside and it was delightful. The cocktails were delicious! The food was great and the service great. It was a Saturday night and busy. If you want to eat inside I suggest booking a reservation early.
Restaurant Review: The Whitney House – Worthington, Ohio ⭐️ 6.6 / 10 The Whitney House has long been a Worthington favorite for elevated comfort food, but our experience left us split: an exceptional bar paired with some of the poorest table service we’ve experienced. The Bar – 8.8 / 10 The bartenders were outstanding. True mixologists with impeccable knowledge of spirits, history, and pairings—an absolute delight to watch and engage with. Their attentiveness and craft elevated the evening, and if we were judging on the bar alone, The Whitney House would score much higher. The only drawback: the space was noisy and conversation was tough, with some guests clearly overserved. The Dining Room – 5.2 / 10 The dining area is small and cozy, but the bright lighting at 8 p.m. made the atmosphere feel off. More troubling, however, was the service. Our server brought water, took the order, delivered food, and dropped the check—without once checking on the meal, refilling drinks, or giving us the chance to order cocktails at the table. Waters sat empty even after repeated requests, and appetizers arrived before silverware. The experience was so inattentive it fell beneath the level of service you’d expect at Skyline Chili—and that says everything about the gap between price point and hospitality here. Food • Appetizers • Cornbread Skillet: Overpriced, dry, cold, and disappointing. Served in cast iron for show, not flavor. Regretful order. • Pierogi: Crispy and flavorful with a nice plating, but only three pieces for a table of four—something a server should have flagged. Easily the stronger appetizer, but poorly supported by service. • Entrées • Shrimp Pasta: Bright, layered, and balanced, with fresh vegetables adding depth. Grilled lemon would have taken it up a notch, but overall a very good dish. • Mushroom Gnocchi: Rich, robust, and perfectly balanced. A clear highlight of the kitchen. The Verdict The Whitney House excels at cocktails and delivers solid entrées—but service was so inattentive it overshadowed the positives. For a restaurant at this price point, front-of-house oversight is non-negotiable, and here it was nonexistent. Overall Rating: 6.6 / 10 • Bar: Excellent, worth a stop. • Dining: A complete miss. • Recommendation: Do not revisit. There are too many strong contenders in Columbus to spend dining dollars where service lags behind even a Skyline Chili.
Always a good experience at Whitney House. Food very good and nice portions. Drinks are creative and generous. Service is good but not in your face, no “how are things going” every five minutes (not sure how servers have become such a presence during a meal. Not like that in other countries). Wife and I wanted a leisurely meal and our server picked up on that and ensured a lovely experience. Large shareable appetizer, drinks, entrees and glass of wine each for ~$135. Can't beat that
I am celiac— my waitress was also celiac— I could relax knowing she would keep me safe— food was excellent!! Nice and relaxing atmosphere
Awesome greeting Very attentive server but not intrusive, food was expertly prepared and the ambiance was very chill .
Have been to The Whitney several times. We both had the beet salad - there were no beets in the salad. We let the server know that. We had the shrimp penne and mushroom gnocchi, both were bland/not a lot of flavor. I not order the mushroom gnocchi again; was not expecting basically a mushroom purée. Wine selection is decent. Bar was very loud, but knew that going in.

Beautiful section of the city, nice atmosphere, good varied food choices. The only issue was things were very heavy with mushrooms and the pasta was overcooked. The rigatoni was split. Most all in our party iked their dinners.
Got there early. Good thing. Place was packed within an hour. Excellent food and reasonable prices. Service was exceptional. Sorry I can't remember her name. We will be back next time we are local.
Food was delicious, and everyone enjoyed their meals. However, the music was too loud in the front dining room. Updated decor gives a more upscale feel in this space, and the newer padded chairs are much more comfortable than the previous metal ones. FOH is always professional, which we appreciate.
Excellent dinner and drinks. Background music a bit too loud. Salmon a tad over cooked. Everything else wonderful
Worst experience, i felt like a burden on the staff, it took forever to get drinks and i got a coffee and had to ask twice for cream and sugar, saw my food sitting for over 10 min-it was bland once i got it. Not children friendly, music was blaring at one point, was charged $3 for extra bread after the first round of bread seemed to be from the prior day it was stale I will never be back and would never recommend anyone to go there Terrible terrible waste of money
