Memories of Japan Reviews
This used to be my favorite sushi place in the area. I hadn’t been in some time and stopped in for lunch the other day. Ordered the sashimi lunch and they brought a plate out with crab sticks as part of the sashimi option. I asked why and they insisted that fake crab meat was considered sashimi…. 🤨 I just went along with it. But as I was eating the sashimi just had a bad taste. I couldn’t stomach the tuna, it was an overly fishy taste. The salmon sashimi was good though...read full review
I just wanted to take a second and talk about how consistently excellent Memories of Japan is. Every time we go they are consistently excellent 🏆. Their servers are wonderful 🏆, the food is great 🏆 & I highly recommend their iced green tea: it’s so good! And they’re consistently great time after time; you know it’s one thing to be good sometimes and then be off at other times but every time we’ve gone they’ve been consistently good!
Excellent food and excellent service.
One of my new favorites.

Memories of Japan offers consistently excellent Japanese cuisine with generous portions and a diverse menu. The quality remains high, and the atmosphere is quaint and peaceful, feeling more Japanese than American. While the sushi rolls may be average, the bento boxes, especially box C, and salads are highly recommended. Customers suggest trying the plum wine with the boxes, as all of them are great, but C is a favorite. The salmon sashimi is noted as some of the best, and the food is always top tier and the fish is always fresh, leaving diners full and satisfied. The service is polite, accommodating, and swift, showing genuine care for customers.
The store itself is cute and the location isn't bad. The atmosphere has changed slightly, with low-lighting and a lovely Japanese city pop playlist creating a quiet and intimate setting. The lunch specials are incredible and the prices are great, making it a favorite place to get sushi for a good price. Despite concerns about parking lot cleanliness, the food quality and menu variety make it a top spot for Japanese food in Tulsa. Memories of Japan continues to hold a special place in the hearts of many, being a favorite for trying sushi, memorable dates, and authentic experiences since trips to Japan.
