“Stopped here for breakfast while passing through on I40. What a WONDERFUL choice! (gotta give hubby credit for scouting this one out 😊) He had the chicken fried steak, eggs, hashbrowns, sausage gravy and biscuit. I had the Denver Omelet, home fries and toast. Everything was DELICIOUS! Portions were very generous. Owner took care of us and she was a delight. Friendly, fast and working her butt off! She was the only one waiting tables and many were obviously regulars as she greated them by name and made small talk as she buzzed around filling coffee cups, taking orders, bringing out food and clearing plates. She never stopped moving! If we ever find ourselves in the area again you can bet we'll be back!”

They made sure to check on her continuously while still waiting on other people. They offered all kinds of including wanting to call an ambulance. I did get her to the ER and everything is fine. So, if you’re from out of and town. Stop by poppy’s, the staff is wonderful and the owners are awesome. Thanks again to all the staff that took time and helped me.”

“This is a great local bar. My company was staying in town working at the Burns Flat airport and discovered this place. The folks running the place are very friendly and actually get to know who you are. Good selection of beer with plenty of tables to sit and unwind. We plan to do additional work in the area and plan to make this the end of day destination.”

“I would rate 3 out of 5 stars. The food was good, but not the best I’ve had. I am from New England and we have very similar quality places and this is on par with most that were from where I came from. The biggest issue is I ordered 2 Caronas and both expired 4 months ago in 2023… they didn’t taste too bad, but they should be going thru stock better… and I’d think they’d sell thru corona pretty well compared to some other beers.”

“Growing up, i used to come here all the time. I love the jungkook pop it squishy toys you could get in O!¡ MEAlS. I recently flew here with my pacific spiny lumpsucker named Dirtyfatty from The Pacific Ocean. It was a lifechanging experience. It had the same retro look as it did in the 50s, and made my life feel complete. Now I can die peacefully. Thank you O!¡ WINgS.

Vegetarian options: It’s mostly flavored shet but it is yummylicious.

“We know the owner, Jeremy, from FL and when we were in the area of Wichita we wanted to give it a try ... so glad we did. The employees are so friendly, the frozen drinks and sandwiches were delicious. I even got an extra frozen drink to put in the freezer for later. They brought a pup cup outside to our puppy as well. I wish I had bought a bag of their ground coffee.”

“Great place to stop by and have a few drinks, play some pool, and find a good dance partner. You'll have aang good time by yourself or with a group of friends. Very easy to find and plenty of parking. Hotels and a hop and a skip away or you can easily catch a cab if you need one after the night comes to an end. DJ Rob will not let you down if you stop in.”

“My family and I were traveling from Colorado to Alabama and we were in Elk City at dinner time. So glad we chose this place to stop and eat- so good. The staff was all very friendly, and the food is very good! We had a variety of menu items and we all cleaned our plates (kid approved). Highly recommend!”
