We had lunch there today arrive right around noon, the place was not busy at all for lunchtime. The service was slow and took a long time to get to the table. I know that they claim not to be a fast food place but for 2 sandwiches and fries the wait time was much too long for how slow the cafe was. I had the Mark Daddy sandwich the ham was very thin and there wasn't much of it and was over cooked and the cheese was only half melted. Silver Dollar Cafe is a main street-style eatery with a bar and a flea market. It serves a delicious chicken fried steak dinner, covered in gravy, and offers well-sized appetizers. The restaurant is spacious, occupying at least two old buildings on main street. The décor is pine wood furniture, authentic metal ceiling tin, country store shelving and displays, decorated with pawn shop / thrift store paraphernalia. It is a food hall, a bar, a recreation area, and a gift shop. The saloon is a sectioned-off area in the back with a real bar and a big selection of beers on tap and liquors. The gift shop has some cool stuff that a kid with $10 could score.
The food is good, with the chili being a standout. The open face chili burger with cheese, onions, mustard and jalapenos is a popular choice, as well as the salad with crispy chicken. The service is friendly and the atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a mix of vintage and modern decor. The restaurant also has a large stage and a dance floor, and offers live music on weekends.
