We had a very good time here, and even with On x, we had some trouble finding a way back out of the never-ending trails.. which, of course, adds to the fun. 06 TJ 4.0 6 speed. Almost all riders were side by sides, but the trails were great for the old TJ.
We rented the primitive bunkhouse. It was disgusting! I had to use up all my disinfectant wipes yo clean. The mattress and mattress cover had dog hair imbedded and stained. Dog hair all over the floor and cabinets. Coffee all over the shelves. Microwave covered in food splatter, toaster oven had food and grease all over the bottom and tray. The air and outhouse was the best part of our stay. We were told we were going to get a refund and never did!! The trails were not marked good and the trail map looked like a child wrote it, with illegible writing. Very disappointed!!

Love this place. We come and ride pretty frequently. Our last trip was the first time we camped. We rented a site with power and water the first night then primitive camped the next 2 nights. Showers would be a nice addition to the campground, just a suggestion. Overall this place is awesome.

spent the day at Cross Bar Ranch before Christmas. Less than a 2 hour drive from where I was staying with family in Texas… and had to take the bikes. Wanted to ride Red River, but we were going on a Monday. We didn’t find a lot of single track to ride. (had 3 people on 4-wheelers with us). But stayed mostly north side. A lot of rocks. But also found some areas without rocks. Several side by sides out there… but we never crossed paths with anyone while riding. Would like to go back with only bikes. Definitely some challenging hill climbs.

Fantastic riding destination with challenging obstacles if you want them. If you come in the summer prepare for dust… the dust is thick. Lots of places to challenge your driving and climbing abilities in almost any offroad vehicle.

Our first time! We really had a blast!! The price is great! 4 stars due to map inconsistencies. We used Maprika AND OnX Off-road (recommended at the office). We made our way okay, but sometimes maps didn't reflect what was on the ground. We get it, trails change, or you cut new ways, but it was sometimes frustrating. We had a few thrills in our '06 Wrangler TJ-X 4.0 6-speed manual on 33's. We only saw one other Jeep. It was fun to watch some action at Rock Face.
