First things first, when you go to the vet and are required to do an annual wellness exam to get the annual rabies shot, you would expect to see the vet, not so at this place. They took my dog in the back because "they had no exam rooms open" to administer the rabies and booster parvo shots and was told to go ahead and check out while they took him to the back. Never spoke to or laid eyes on the vet, yet was charged for the annual exam. Oh, and to get the monthly nexgaurd plus refilled that I said he needed a couple months supply of when checking in, had to have a heart worm test (get this pill from them every month of the year), only to find out when checking out, they were out of the dose I needed and offered other brands. They finally found one. They said I could order from their online store and I said well I go to Costco all the time and will just get it filled there. This Employee tells me they have a $25 charge to transfer a script.....Super disappointed in this establishment and the lack of professionalism. Another incident, after walking my dog in their grass before going into the clinic my son said he felt something crawling up his leg and it was a huge tick. I waited until no customers where in the waiting room to ask if they treated their grass because if they have not, they should consider it. (Giving them a friendly heads up)Same employee from earlier (just order online-employee)comes from the back and said she heard I wanted to know if they treated their lawn for flea and ticks and she was there to let me know they have but we're in Oklahoma and that is just how it is here in Oklahoma! ughh... weird comment to make and not true. Anyway, sadly we will have to be on the lookout for a vet that has a different approach to animal care, there was close to zero level attention to detail and that is not acceptable. In 35 years of owning dogs and taking them to the vet, not once, not ever have we ever felt so wronged about what occurred at this place today. Disgusted.
We love 49th Street!! Michaela does such a good job with our aussiedoodle Bonnie and the staff is so helpful and friendly!š¤
I highly recommend 49th Street Veterinary Clinic. We were in on time and our dog was given excellent care. Everything was explained in detail and nothing felt rushed.
Dr Jen is rude, condescending, and has no sense of patient care. Today we were made to feel awful about money being tight due to losing a job. She then became angry and slammed the door on her way out
Absolutely worst experience!! Out of all my years of going to the Vet with my dog this was the most problematic one. I get itās one thing if Iām one minute late but for you to up and right treat me and my dogs as if we are not wanted there is awful customer service. Iām new to the area and was a first time customer. For you to ask to put a muzzle on my dog as soon as I come into the building was the worst thing you could have said. Also, if this place could have given me a heads up to leave them in the car before coming in; I would have been more than happy to do so. Appointment was cancelled 10 min of waiting in my car after and I will not be going here again. Do better! Any other Vet clinics you recommend?
Chaos at the clinic. Pet parents had to take their pets back out to the car and waste gas to stay cool while waiting to be called back into the clinic. The vet tech and Dr. Miles were very nice, but the doctor didnāt make it into the room until close to 3:00 for a 2:00 appointment. She gave my dog an allergy shot. No full exam. She started to walk out of the room and I asked about his exam. She walked back into the room, flipped up his ears and asked if they were problematic. She said his coat looked okay. She left. Then he had his nails trimmed. I was charged 240.00, which included a charge for an āAnnual Examā that was not done. When I asked about the charge, the little girl at the front desk and another person they brought up from the back were immediately hostile. I explained that Dr. Miles did not do a full exam, but only administered the shot. The response I received was āEvery vet is different.ā š¤Æ I paid and left.
I took my kitten to get her established for care. We were placed in a room immediately, direct from checking in. The staff & vet were wonderful. I was very impressed with the energy we received. Everyone there seemed genuine & caring. Seeing my almost 10 month old kitten calm and accepting of the exam without any signs of fear, really sealed it for me. I'm so glad we found this place. ā¤ļøšø
I will never be able to say enough good things about Dr. Jen and her practice. Her compassion and understanding is unmeasured and she CARES. Iāve been a client of hers going on eight years now and every time I need something for my dogs, she is there to provide. Rather itās routine checkups, preventative medicine, or emergent care. Her and her team are IT. Thanks again to you and your team for coming in clutch again over these past two weeks. š«¶š¼
Quoted $230 for a standard procedure to neuter our dog. We expected the price to go up a little as most things do. They charged us $470 at pick up- no payment plans & wonāt take pet insur.
If you are in the heartbreaking situation of needing end of life care for your pet in an emergency, do NOT go here. My senior Dachshund went into heart failure early one morning. My regular vet was out of town and after discussing my options I called 49th street to have him put down as soon as they opened so he didnāt suffer. I got ahold of someone at 8:00 am and they told me the vet would be in between 8:30-9. We arrived early in hopes of getting in as soon as possible. We checked in and sat in our car since they didnāt put us in a room I didnāt want to have him whining and in pain around other dogs, much less be crying over my beloved pet in the waiting room. At 9:15 we went inside because we hadnāt been notified about the vet getting there and didnāt want them to move onto someone else. Still we werenāt put into a room, so I ended up having to sit in the floor as my poor dog suffered and continued to fight heart failure as larger dogs came in and surrounded him. Finally a little after 9:30 we were taken back to a room. I told the tech I wanted him to at least have sedation as soon as possible so he was not in so much pain as we waited on the vet. She informed me the vet was in the next room with her first patient of the day. (The same patient I was with in the waiting room that was there for heart worm prevention.) as my dog really began to suffer and was in unbearable pain I went to the lobby and asked again if someone could please get him some sedation. The tech came in again and finally gave it and by this time I knew it was too late to make him comfortable. She gave it to him and said it would take five minutes to go into effect. Not even 60 seconds later he died on the table. I opened the door and informed them that I didnāt need to see the vet. Since it was almost 10:00 am and he had just died on the table. IMMEDIATELY the vet comes in the room and listens to his heart just to inform me, āyep thereās no heartbeat.ā It is traumatic enough to try to make the last moment of a dog that you have had for 15 years comfortable as you say goodbye. But this experience made an awful time for my husband and I even worse. I was trying to do my best and keep him out of pain when it turns out I just took him to a clinic that had zero compassion or cared. After this experience I have heard of multiple other people that have had this happen at this clinic. We walked out with my dog in a box at 10:00 after waiting on someone to even look at him since 8:00 a.m. I would not recommend anyone to ever take their pet here.

Great place to get cold coffee

Mrs. Flip Out had high hopes for this place since it had some great reviews. A core component of a coffee shop or restaurant is its customer service. As I started taking photos of this place, I overheard Mrs. Flip Outās conversation with the guy inside. Without a menu in sight, Mrs. Flip Out had tried to order a small breve. The guy told her that they were out of half and half, so not sure what to order, she requested a menu. He dug around and found one. She then requested a small cold brew with cream. He rolled his eyes and said with an air of inconvenience, āI said, weāre out of cream.ā Slightly confused, Mrs. Flip Out said, āI thought you said half and half.ā To which he rolled his eyes again, and said āHalf and half IS cream.ā When she started to clarify, he interrupted, repeated what he said, adding āIāve worked places. I know.ā At this point, I told Mrs. Flip Out, he didnāt know what he was talking about and weād go somewhere else. For that gentleman, cream is the thicker, higher fat content, skimmed from milk before processing the milk. Half and half is by definition two substances; in this case, half whole milk and half heavy cream. It is middle ground between milk and cream. If you are out of one product, that is fine, and happen to be out of the second product, as well, that is OK. That happens from time to time. Donāt try intimidate your customers with attitude and tone.
