I used to love this place but it has gone downhill in the last few years. They have reduced the sushi rolls to almost nothing. They aslo dont seem to carry saki anymore. We went in, ordered some sushi and hibachi. We spent $15 for each roll and when we got them they didn't have everything they were suppose to in them. If I pay $15 per roll, I'd like it to be the way it was described in the menu. Then after finishing our rolls, the waitress came by and asked how everything was. I could tell she was reaching for our ticket. I asked how much longer for our soup amd hibachi. By the look in her face I could tell she forgot to put it in, but she said someone must have given it to another table. There was only one other table there so they weren't busy. Also looking at what they got, it wasn't what we had order. So after 45 minutes from ordering we finally got our hibachi plate. For 2 rolls, one hibachi, and 2 mixed drinks I felt $80 was a lot. Especially considering we got jipped on the rolls and our food came 45 after ordering. I will not be back. Traveling the extra distance to Sherman to two brother's hibachi is more than worth it. Which is a total of more than an hour from my house, but way better than tokyo!

45 minute wait for 2 people on a Saturday night. Empty restaurant. Only 2 hibachi chefs working the grills. Host didn’t try to make any accommodations. Would’ve spent money on apps and drinks, but hey if they don’t care then I’m happy spending my money elsewhere. Do yourself a favor and don’t come here.

Food was good! The waitress was especially kind and friendly. I asked for a sushi roll as a starter... it came out sometime after out main dish was being served.... not a huge deal... but noticeable...

This is a first impression. I tend to avoid boutique style restaurants in small cities. I value enjoyment over value when it comes to food that I can't make at home.
The salad dressing is gritty and has a hint of sourness. The vegetables on the plate had no added flavor but burnt. The fried rice cost extra and wasn't satisfying. The steak was too lean to hold its natural flavor. It wasn't seasoned. The shrimp was fine. Neither of the two sauces benefited the food. Usually I give a place three chances. This place doesn't deserve a second chance. I suspect I could make a better version of this meal with the foods I have at home. Taste Island is better and costs around half as much.

I enjoyed it, even if I didn't get what I ordered. Still paid for it and went on about my evening. The sake will sneak up on you too. Other than nothing getting what I ordered, it was cool. The chef was chill and threw us chicken.

Need to get the A/C fixed. Not good to have a fan on the floor blowing on you.

Used to love eating here. But went tonight and no AC. Last thing I want to do is sit and burn up in a fine dining establishment. Dunno how they keep employees when it's cooler outside then inside.

We have come here for years while at Choctaw. The food is good, just very expensive. Today, the a/c was broken and it was so hot (99+) that we had to order our food to take home. I had to sit in the car as it was cooler outside. They put fans that just circulated the miserable heat. This is the third year the A/C was broken. I am done! Then they have the nerve to charge an 18% gratuity!!

From the moment you step inside Tokyo Hibachi and Sushi in Durant, Oklahoma, you’re instantly transported into a culinary sanctuary where every detail hums with excellence. This place isn't just a restaurant — it's a revelation. The energy, the artistry, the flavors — everything is dialed to eleven.

Let’s talk hibachi. The chefs here are performers, artists with steel spatulas, creating a mesmerizing spectacle of flames, flipping shrimp, and precision-cut filet mignon that sizzles with buttery perfection. It's dinner and a show, but not the kitschy kind — it’s authentic, captivating, and flawlessly executed. The steak melts like silk, the chicken is juicy beyond reason, and the fried rice? An umami-packed masterpiece with smoky depth and just the right kiss of soy.

And then, there’s the sushi — oh, the sushi. Each roll is a jaw-dropping balance of flavor and craftsmanship. The fish is impossibly fresh, the rice seasoned with perfect acidity, and the plating? Instagram-worthy without even trying. The Durant Roll is a showstopper, the Rainbow Roll a technicolor dream, and the spicy tuna? A knockout punch of heat and richness that leaves you grinning between bites.

But what truly elevates Tokyo Hibachi and Sushi above the rest is the vibe. The staff treat you like royalty — attentive but never intrusive, warm without being scripted. The space hums with happy chatter, clinking glasses, and the low, satisfying sizzle from the hibachi grill. It’s the kind of place where first dates become anniversaries and casual dinners become unforgettable nights.

Five stars doesn’t cut it. Tokyo Hibachi and Sushi is a 10-out-of-5, mic-drop, absolutely-can’t-miss dining experience. Whether you're a sushi connoisseur, a hibachi enthusiast, or just someone who appreciates food that’s cooked with soul, this spot will ruin every other Japanese restaurant for you — in the best possible way.
