Johnny Cash brought me to this town. I found this place while driving down their main street and it looked like a perfect place. Inside I wasn't disappointed, nothing fancy very relaxed small town diner. The menu was fairly basic, again nothing fancy. While I was making my choice, an interesting thing happened, that really made this visit stand out. A homeless/drifter walked in and sat down. He appeared to be a little angry but maybe let's say rough, not sure the proper description. Anyways, I'll come back to him. I ended up ordering the Western Burger with Potato Salad. It arrived fairly quickly and I laughed a bit, as it was a little disheveled, hard to explain, but see me photo of it. With a little rearranging it was ready to go. Everything was fresh and again nothing fancy It was good and the Potato Salad was great. Now back to this other customer. I noticed that he wasn't quite done yet so when I went to pay, I offered to pay for him as well too. From one fellow traveler to another. My server told that it was already covered and that one of the other customers had also offered to pay as well. This really made me love this place. I would have figured that everyone wouldn't be too happy to see him but they really wanted to help him out. Great people in Hennessey.

Great food for a small town restaurant. We had lunch with a plate of pork chops and a open-faced roast beef sandwich. Both had mash potatoes, gravy and salad bar plus one serving of coconut cream pie. Total was $22 including tax. The waitress was busy with several tables but she always made the rounds checking on every table. We'll eat there again if we are ever in Hennessy.
