I am not expert on German food, but for my tastes this place was good. The location is great right off Main St. With extra parking behind the building off of Gray St. The restaurant is small-ish but it was not crowded when I went on a weekday night, but also had a steady flow of people which says something. Breads were great, mustard were top notch. I had the Reuben with was nice. Fair portion of corned beef. The rye was light eye and nicely toasted with lots of butter.
Many people I know come for the beer selection, but driving myself home I did not partake.

Me and a buddy swung by this place for a das boot, and it was served in a plastic boot with this weird lip on the edge of the cup that curves inwards and has a sharp edge. You could literally see teeth marks on the edge of my cup and god knows if that lip was cleaned thoroughly or not. It was very strange and I would not recommend getting the 1 liter das boot. You would think that a place that literally has das boot in the name would at the very least serve it in a glass boot but I guess that makes too much sense.

Good beer, but my burger and bacon came out burnt. Plastic beer boot which is fine, the beer is good. Overall I enjoyed it, the food is good but small issues. Nobody else’s food end up over cooked, cheese curds and mustard were great!

Love this place. Always got great deals, Andy's beer is always the best and the 1 liter boots are half price..like 5 bucks starting at 2pm and ends at ....6 I think? And there is another happy hour time.
I recommend getting a flight, and trying the jager fries. Get crazy and add the curry ketchup. They sell growlers you can fill with beer. Honestly a hell of a deal. Home brewed German beer for a really good price. It's actually cheaper than a 6 pack of Budlight.
Anyways, I try to go once a week and I do so for a reason.

Not very good German Food. We were hoping to find a great place closer than Rohmers in Muenster, TX.

Das Boot is one of those restaurants that you can go to again and again and always have a good time. We've had everything from the sliders to several kinds of schnitzel, from their cheese curds to their bread platter. My parents have tried at least half of their own draft beers and have only had good things to say about them. Every time we've gone, our service has been wonderful and attentive, be it a slow early dinner period to the busier lunch rush. Our personal favorite dish is anything with their Jaeger gravy (the bacon and mushroom one), so definitely give one of those a try when you go!
Also, try their key lime mints! They're different but really good.

The atmosphere is okay, the service was good at the beginning, then not great.
The food took a long time to come and once it arrived the bread in one of the sandwiches was all burned. Sausages were tiny.
With drinks, most restaurants give you refills and the servers keep an eye on the table to check if everything is tasting good or refills. This was not the case here.
Overall, if you go, keep the expectations low to have a positive experience.
Delicious! Great staff. Will definitely be back!
Good food and beer. Prices are reasonable and a nice relaxed atmosphere.
